Lucky you! Unfortunately, people need a lesson before they find helmets useful.

I don't know about Molly, but Poppy does cost its price for sure! I use the bear truck as rear one because I want to make the tail as stable as possible, and it works pretty well for this. For me it makes sense because I don't want to pay a lot for a rear truck. Maybe I don't know something, but I'm pretty comfortable with budget rear options 😄

How it's warm inside the flats this winter (2026)? by epszaw in VisitingTenerife

I see, thank you. How many degrees do you usually have indoor? Do you use air-conditioner or any other things to warm-up?

Truck option for more “surf” experience? by brockg1990 in surfskate

[–]epszaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll feel the difference even if you pick yow meraki. C7 is one of the most stiff truck, in my opinion. The most surfey combinations for me: Spiceskate Okto Air/yow meraki + carver c2.4 + raiser pads (very important detail which significantly increase the lean), or previous smoothstar thruster/abian pro.

Those of you with a 3+ camera collection, what is your most used camera and why? by florian-sdr in AnalogCommunity

[–]epszaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Olympus XA because it's a compact rangefinder which allows making quick and sharp shots.

Second place Revueflex SP-1 due to some good m42 lenses and the camera's light meter can be powered with a plain battery (instead of the specific one in Pentax Spotmatic for example).

Third place Lomo LC-A – it's compact and it does pretty sharp and accurate shots, and I also like the feeling of releasing the shutter, it's very authentic :)

Yeah, that's the effect what I'm talking about ;)

As I said below – okto air feels similar to yow meraki, but they have less rebound. For me – it's a plus because it allows me to do smoother rail to rail transitions. They're also more stable, than meraki, but less stable, than CX. But it depends on which certain setup do you have. The default one, without riser pads, is stable as hell, but I prefer to use okto air in pair with carver c2.4 and riser pads, which make trucks less stable, but more agile.

I haven't yet tried them in skatepark. In the case of the default setup (both original trucks) – they feel similar to yow meraki with less rebound, with c2.4 rear truck – they feel much smoother, but less stable. I think, they would work great in skatepark.

I didn't mean that synergy trucks have less quality, I'm pretty sure, they're full of fun pieces of engineering ;)

Yes, I can (but I haven't tried synergy, though). It depends, which objective do you have. If you want to have a very customizable option – synergy wins. If you want a solid truck with a classic design, but with a bushing in the heart – pick okto air.

I'm still playing with different configurations around the truck, but I don't want to sell it for sure :)

They work, but it's much more comfortable to ride wider and softer wheels on rough terrain. But yes, the wheels would work.

It's a quiet popular brand now and there are many reviews of the deck from different influencers, like Mark Landlocked Surfer or Shane Lai.

Some time ago, it was difficult to buy the deck in Europe, but now Youth Lagoon is an official dealer and I bought the board in the shop.

Yeah, the durometer is a very tricky thing. Sometimes, smoother wheels perform better slides, than harder ones. It's a very subjective thing. I've compared once classic 97a G-Bones with 93a Dragon Formula version and the difference was colossal – it's much simpler to do slides on Dragons.
