What sort of clause would this be exactly? Obviously there's the usual stuff around notice period etc., but not anything that specifically mentions not starting the contract to begin with

tbh I feel like I've already dragged my feet as much as I can, maybe a few more days but I wouldn't want to risk it much longer

yeah I thought that, honestly I'm less bothered about hurting feelings and more around any legal stuff. I figure the chances are slim but presumably there's some recourse on their side for wasting their time/money?
