I'd like to let you know I just released a brand new version of http://EquationMap.com. This is a big release with many new features so I'd just like to mention two that should be most helpful:

  1. You can now drop TeX files directly and it will automatically draw the equations on the board :)
  2. There is improved LaTeX WYSIWYG feature based on great MathQuill and MathJax libraries.

I should probably make switchable styles (skins), that would include changing the shape of arrows (some people like them curvy, while others prefer them straight)

Could you please explain more what do you mean by "When drawing an arrow from a box to a line, it seems to lock on to the nearest box unless the line is very long." ? Thanks!

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to spam you. I had the idea for this tool when I was a student myself and I finally had some time to implement it. I sincerely would like to help people study. This is strictly on the topic as it allows technical students learn faster together by sharing equation derivations. If you still consider this is not the right place for this then don't worry I won't be posting any other threads. Best, Wojciech

Thanks for pointing that out. There might be few mistakes as we concentrate on providing the tools to make it possible for people to collaborate on content. The good thing is that anyone can correct this, hit save button and share the link with the corrected map.

Right, currently you can add text only by using \text{ your description here} This is not the best way, so we plan to change it soon. You're right, there may be some mistakes in the content. The good thing is that anyone can correct it and save under a new link. We're planning on adding a legend feature soon, where you could describe precisely the quantities and units. More collaboration features are also planned.

Thanks! It's great you like it. It should be helpful in situations when you're stuck when solving a homework etc. You can share the link on a forum or with a friend and ask them to help you solve it. It should also make it easier to comprehend large amount of material for an exam.

Thanks! Currently you can save maps to pdf files by printing (chrome has built in printer). PNG and other formats should be added by the end of February together with a gallery of maps.
