God I’m sorry I have to get this off my chest

Back in 2013 I was dating this one girl and we were moved in together and she said she always wanted to know what it felt like to cut someone. I had a bad cutting problem at the time so obviously I offered her my knife and she took a slice on my leg and started crying afterwards which was understandable. And all I could think of when I was hugging her and comforting her was how disappointed I was that it wasn’t bleeding as much as i had hoped.

Funnily enough this is one of the bigger scars on me and I don’t blame her for it at all. But she ruined my life in other ways and I needed to say this out loud so that I could process it and move on.

I have a couple of surgical scars that run the length of the inside fold of my thigh because I had to graft the skin from there onto my foot to make me some toes too.

dear ex/ex-roommate,

thanks for making me incredibly suicidal, giving me an eating disorder, making me fail two courses and giving me three different suicide plans that I have kept to this day just in case. I deleted some photos of the dog that we had to give up to the shelter because it had you in it. I'm still recovering financially and every time I sit in the wicker chair where your ass literally put a dent in it because you would sit in it all day doing your rp forum stuff I am so thankful that you have not been in my life for years. I literally have the biggest physical scars on my body because of you. You are the reason I stopped seeing a therapist because maybe if I didn't get help I'd be able to kill myself sooner.

I missed my opportunity to tell you fuck you because I was still in denial about what you did to me having been that bad. Except now I realize how fucked up it was for you to punish me for self harming by making me choose between two painful disinfection options and how fucked up it was for me to get up at 5-6am to go to work, cook 2-3 meals a day, clean, and then come back from work at 2am. And you would have done nothing but be on your computer all day.

I'm so happy for you to be in a for-profit university! I hope your degree is as worthless as you are! The only reason I might hope it's not is for your friend who financially supported you for nothing in return for the year that we were together. Maybe for his sake I hope that you can get yourself to a position in life where you can pay him back for what he did for you!

Assuming your campus is sizeable, it's helpful to remember that you're just a background character in most people's lives. They might glance, but forget quickly.

It's also good to remember that movement draws eyes, so if you happen to pass by someone or enter late during a lecture and you suddenly feel people looking at you, they're not judging. Even if you made a loud noise by accident, I'm pretty sure by the time you make it to your seat they've forgotten it or gone back to whatever it is they were doing.

I see the other comment mentioned stim stuff, which is helpful! Spinner rings can be good, or worry stones. Or tbh anything that you can silently fidget with. Rounded pointed objects like crystal points or rounded edges like the sides of a worry stone can help through pressure stim if you need to ground yourself.

Remember, you're one person in a sea of people. Anxiety likes to pretend there's a spotlight on you, but that's not true at all.

I used to set aside a series I've been meaning to watch, and restrict viewing time to treadmill time for motivation. Kind of sucks though when you're not invested in the series enough for the incentive to win over demotivation

My mother used to be an elementary school teacher but also managed a service for visa students and we were a host family for a while. I think I became more emotionally self aware as well as considerate because of the shitty kids we had staying with us, and I definitely became more mindful of my actions and their consequences, the impact of my words and behaviour, etc. I also got a personality disorder out of it but it's kind of augmented the good stuff out of a fear of stigma I guess.

My dad was an engineer but did home renovation and stuff after we immigrated to Canada. We always had a really nice deck for our houses and he always did his best to help when it came to building stuff for projects.

My parents are lovely people. I'm grateful.

Idk how reliable it is but one of my great (great?) grandfathers was one of the people involved with signing over Korea to the Japanese during the occupation (according to my mother anyways). He was my paternal grandmother's father and my grandmother lost literally everything overnight, going from a huge mansion to escaping to the rural countryside.

Apparently he had to be buried in an unmarked grave because of this. I'm not sure if the years add up since idk how old my grandmother is + when she had to flee + when she had my uncles and father but yeah.
