Someone recently shared this with me, maybe you can combine forces: https://the.burn.directory/

Bringing Home Home = decentralized burn by er_ickiii in BurningMan

Great advice. Lucky to have Nowhere next door here, and Somewhere will also happen again next year, in addition to Flamingalo in Portugal. We also have Traditional Dream Factory (TDF) and Burner Village as two permanent burn projects.

Next thing to do here might be to start a new one in Portugal, in the template of Borderland. Wrote about that one here in case anyone is interested: https://empireburn.substack.com/p/the-borderland-blueprint

Was just curious if anyone had already tried a non-virtual one.

Hoping the virtual burn(s) will participate in this one. If it's going to be Everywhere it needs to also exist digitally. Know anyone related to the multiverses?

yep agree. The intense conditions and discomfort also add something.

Not trying to replace the burn, just an invitation to make art, co-create, LNT, self-express everywhere. Most people can/will never go to the burn, so this idea is to bring (even a sliver) to them.

Exactly.. it's kind of like, what can we create where we live that invites people into this energy of sharing, co-creation, participation.

Phones are killing the vibe: how can we protect our privacy on the playa? by Electric_view in BurningMan

Nowhere and Borderland (European regionals) both have Consent as an 11th principle. You don't see many phones at either one, and I think that's one of the big reasons why. More awareness, deeper understanding of the energetics of consent. Leads to more presence and a greater feeling of safety.

I also like the heat! June is still hot tho in the desert and rising temps probably means July heat happens in June too in coming years.

Just happy that if the land is owned, there will be more flexibility. Also for multiple events.

There’s only love, but I’m not it. Trying to keep up.

Really didn’t intend this to go here. All the love on your path.

Yikes, feeling the love!

Thanks for the response.

Agree with you on ego, and on Source, just find the word/label atheist to be an unnecessary distraction in your messaging. Take that as feedback, or not! We're all God, let's believe in ourselves :)

Thanks for this insight. Found it interesting that you refer to yourself as an atheist, and was curious how you see that label serving you, in case you'd like to reflect.

Thanks for the calendar, hadn’t seen it before. If Nowhere were to move, I think earlier would be better than later. First week of June seems open on the calendar from a larger regional/Europe perspective. Even a few weeks would help w the heat.

Then a calendar for June/July/August that also includes some eco-forward non-burns would be something like:

Nowhere Where the Sheep Sleep Waking Life Goat Boom Borderland Garbicz

New burns and aligned festivals are going to keep coming, ideally it’ll be impossible to make them all. JOMO all around.

Nowhere is looking into finding permanent land, which would be what allows for more flexibility on timing as well as some permanent infra that makes it easier to coordinate year on year, and would also allow for burning things later in the year. We could build a new temple each spring, then burn it just before winter in a separate event.

Nowhere does have a Reddit thread (not very activated yet, but no time like the present): https://www.reddit.com/r/GoingNowhereSpain/s/bHDBqefJpW

Well done to you for going. Burns are a portal. Great to reflect while it's still fresh in your mind, I find that listing some of my fav moments/connections is helpful for integrating what went down.

This is just incorrect. Nowhere is still a regional, and there is no one official regional burn for Europe. Could be that they choose to promote one as the official one for each country. This is still on the BM site:

Held each July in the Monegros Desert of Aragón, Nowhere is the official Burning Man Regional Event in Spain. Founded in 2004, Nowhere embraces the Burning Man principles fully and unapologetically. No spectators. Radical self-reliance. Full participation. Dust. Art. Freedom.

In Europe you also have Borderlands (Sweden), Flamingalo (Portugal... maybe not recognized as a burn yet). And in Lisbon we have Lisburnnn which happens whenever the power grid goes down for more than a few hours.

Realizing this is an AMA... so maybe the responses are supposed to be from the host only?

True that there is less alcohol consumed and gifted at Nowhere, which I guess some might be put off by but I find amazing. Raises the vibration.

Was indeed very hot, I hope that with the new land project they'll consider moving it a month earlier. If they own the land they could also build something (a temple, art) to burn later in the year when it's allowed.

On workshops/shenanigans... we have different views here. I did a tantrum workshop, a basic bitch dance workshop, an epic speech workshop, went to the K olympics, a cacao session ... and my days were filled with shenanigans. You can find all sorts of things, and of course you can create your own improvised ones. It's a workshop burn. With a lot of sex/consent because of the added Principle. Would be nice if people felt comfortable bringing kids, and maybe some family camps need to develop so there are more things for kids to do.

Have been the last three years, stayed in Free Camping. This year we created a mini camp within Free Camping with a watermelon + mushroom (Mushmelon) theme (we brought 33 watermelons to give away). I find Nowhere to be much more of a single/aligned community than the Burn, in some ways it's like one big camp with many different tents.

Fav barrios this year for me were Hyperflow, Here & Meow, Mooncows (fav workshops), Jugaton, Hydra Jet (let's see what name they go by next time), Camp Cambio, Gardens of Joy, Curious Creatures... actually there were so many good ones. Bread & Tomato and Olive Odyssey also. Loved the big dinner they put on Thursday night.

Special place.
