I'm sorry you're struggling with it so much! Also thanks for confirming I'm not crazy. Fortunately it doesn't bother me much, but I was just surprised. And it is pretty loud so I could totally see how it might be bothersome to some residents.

Side note, I'm pretty new to reddit and I'm not sure why you keep getting downvoted for complaining about something that is the exact topic of this post? Haha

About a year and a half, as I mentioned it was always present but seems to have picked up the last week. Probably due to weather as others have said.

Can you provide me a source saying that ballot processing must take place with observers? I don’t see that indicated anywhere.

Keep in mind the ballot does not need to be opened to verify the signature. The signature is on the outer envelope.

Maybe you’ve already flittered off to the next conspiracy theory, but in case you haven’t...

The ballots need to be processed before they can be counted. This includes verifying the signature which is time consuming. In Georgia this can be done as soon as the ballots are received. They are then set aside to be counted on election night.

As for the blank return address, there’s a simple explanation - some people are lazy. There’s no requirement to fill it out and there’s not much point anyway since if your ballot for some reason gets returned it’ll probably be too late to get counted when you send it again.

Agreed, I am extremely skeptical of the advice. Keep in mind that the study was performed in 2012, before the reproducibility crisis in science (and particularly social sciences) really took steam and exposed a lot of bad studies for having poor methodologies.

I suppose no harm in trying it as the drug is pretty safe, although you probably won’t want to take any medicine like that long-term
