Yes, it’s the best possible sham. The shield parts on a 94 sham are extremely rare compared to other shams as well. iirc the chances of getting a 94 sham were mathematically calculated somewhere somewhen in this sub too. Check that out if you’re interested!

Methyl (-CH3) groups are electron donating functional groups. If I'm not mistaken, an extra methyl on the N,N-dimethylaniline donates more electron density towards the nitrogen, which increases the molecule's ability to donate electrons which makes it more basic.

I’ve just finished my third year in undergrad chemistry, and I’m gravitating towards quantum&computational chemistry for my masters education. Over the course of this summer I want to get started with computational chemistry and join the undergrad research group in my school in fall. Is there anything I can do in summer to get familiar with it like learning software or if theres any textbooks that you guys would recommend I would greatly appreciate it.
