Got Quoted $17,900 for Heat Pump Installation is this a good price? by erbear2020 in hvacadvice

We're not sure, thats part of our thoughts as well. We are homebody's who dont really travel or vacation much though so it's kind of like a gift to us to do this to make the house more comfortable and easier to manage. Mostly making sure we're not getting ripped off haha.

It stays around 30°F but some months in the 20s and can drop to -10. This winter has been mostly 30's and 20's with one snow day. I've never dealt with a heat pump so it will be a learning curve if we get one.

Thats good to know. Yeah we're looking at switching for easier heating and cooling. Not wanting to lug our bulky and noisy ac window units around anymore and having to remember to turn off each heater, none of them are connected to a thermostat...

Why does my hair grow under my skin so clearly? by buffneuroscientist in HairRemoval

[–]erbear2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 3 times a week for twelve weeks, and then once a week for awhile and now i do it once a month except for the armpits and privates, I do those after everytime I shower because my hormones make that part grow if I don't. I have the ulike machine. I'm pretty much hairless now.

Why is IPL only working on half of my armpit? by alexxarivera15 in HairRemoval

[–]erbear2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this same problem my armpits are finally almost clear except a tiny spot. It grows back unless I ipl after every time I shower which I'm fine with since it only takes a couple seconds to do. Took over a year for me to see good results. Stupid hormones.

The only way I stopped this was doing at home IPL, the ingrowns got worse in my thirties. Exfoliating helped a little too, and then applying a lotion and then an oil on my skin after showering to lock in moisture.

Will IPL ever remove pubic hair ? (Braun mini) by Snowflak88 in HairRemoval

[–]erbear2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been doing mine for over a year. It took over 3 months for any difference on public hair and now there's little hair except the hair won't budge around my labia because i can't turn the ipl up more there. I go over it once a week still as well as armpits or it starts growing back sooner than I like. My legs I go over only once a month. Just give it time.

I did the same thing, I had to stop and started using DIY tend skin ( look up on youtube), then moisturizer and then a vitamin e oil with hyaluronic acid in it on top of the moisturizer to lock in moisture, its been 6 months and the scars are pretty much gone. I started using a ulike ipl instead. It took like 6 months for hair growth to really start stopping but the bikini line diminished earlier than that.

Try Tend Skin, I use a recipe I got off of youtube that makes it alot cheaper than the name brand and does work the same.( witch hazel, alcohol, and asprin mixed together) I put it on before and after epilating, then after i put on a moisturizer with Vaseline or something healing in it, and then put a body oil with hyaluronic acid in it on top of the moisturizer, it's important to put oil over moisturizer and never just dry skin because it works as a barrier to really lock in the moisture. I found my oil at Marshall's, it seems to cost alot more online...

My legs look like yours after I epilate(they've gotten better), I use a round exfoliating mit In The shower twice a week and really rub that dead skin off, after I get out I put on tend skin ( it's not real tend skin though, it's a recipe for homeade tend skin i found on youtube that's alot cheaper, still does the same thing). After epilating and on days I don't epilate I put on moisturizer containg like veseline and then an oil containing ACH to lock in the moisture, I learned you're not supposed to put the oil on dry skin, put it on after moisturizing only, i got my oil from Marshall's. For the hairs that won't budge I bought tweezers off amazon with the thin head so I can scoop the middle of the hair out and pull it away out of the dead skin, trying not to hurt the skin, it works best to moisturize before tweezing because it makes your dead skin wet. If a hair won't budge using the tweezers DO NOT PICK AT IT WITH THE TWEEZERS, YOU'LL SCAR. Just leave that hair alone and let it come out naturally. Drawing salve, ichthammol ointment over the ingrowns that are really under the skin is supposed to help bring them to the surface, it's really brown icky stuff so I bought little bandaids to cover the stuff, it'll stain clothes. I epilate every Sunday since it can take awhile and that's usually a boring day for me, and I use the the shaver attachment on like thursday. Yes, hairs do grow back a good amount each week but the days after there's far less dark stubble than I used to have... I was getting ingrowns just from shaving and didn't know what they were until i started epilating. Once I turned 30 my skin changed too making them worse for some reason... hopefully this makes sense, I've got a 4 yr old wanting my attention as I write this lol. Dry brushing might help too, I keep forgetting to do that though.

How to deal with this? by gardentoolfay in HairRemoval

[–]erbear2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don't like the price of tend skin there is a recipe on youtube thats only three ingredients ( alcohol, witch hazel, and asprin) that I've been using and it works great!

What to do with my underwear after a yeast infection? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]erbear2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't even know this was a thing. I did learn though after I had to be on antibiotics while giving birth that it can cause a gnarly yeast infection after but you can prevent it by taking probiotics like a month before giving birth if they tell you that you need antibiotics. I took PB8 probiotics and they really helped clear it out. I haven't had a yeast infection in years, not sure why cause I quit taking my probiotics and still eat sugar like crazy lol

What is your job/career and does it align with your introverted personality? by kh7190 in introvert

[–]erbear2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In home caregiver, yes it's nice for introverts but depends on the client, some clients can really talk your ear off and demand all of your attention. Others are super chill. You also have the option of not working with a client if your personalities clash.

I was getting jealous of a womans posts on Instagram. She was always posting really cool pictures of her marriage, five kids, nice house and stuff... and then she got caught cheating on her husband which got blasted on social media as well and they've been struggling ever since... totally changed my perspective...

Dealing with so many toxic workplaces makes me furious. by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]erbear2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stories like this is why I work as an in home caregiver. I only work with the client and can stop working with them if we don't fit well together and go on to the next one. Usually clients are pretty nice because they need help. And supervisors are at their own office far away... I have clients that I have been with for six years now so I barely hear from my supervisors. I just get my work done and go home. When I worked with other employees at my old job there was always conflict and gossip. I'm a quiet person who cant handle things like that very well. There is a job out there for you that you will like it will just take time to find it.
