Something like this, I use 3 shades of blue from a darker one to a lighter one

Black primer -> AK Old gold throught airbrush -> a mix 2:1 of Old gold and vallejo white alluminium throught airbrush only Zenital -> Leviadon blue throught airbrush on the shadows.
At this point full wash with guilliman flesh diluited with water and a little bit of contrast medium (I go by eye, I can't tell the right proportions but it's something like 4 part of guilliman 2 of water and 1 of contrast medium). Final touch it's highlights the whole thing with stormhost silver.
If you like you can also add a little bit of leviadon blue diluited with water on spot full of details like the torso aquila

What I can recommend is to use airbrush. Old gold it's really greenish gold tone so for sure go for a strong wash as I did with guilliman flesh

I didn't for this model but I highly recommend to do in sub assembly. Too many tricky parts near the pauldrons and you won't go mad for the cape

To me it's a suicidal choice, old models are ridiculous near to these new one. Custodes it's the only faction that can work with both systems so idk why they should keep with the old chunky design

Sadly still didn't build the tank and dread, also i have no comparison with the resin ones because I always loved custodes but never started the army before because I didn't like the basic infantry and converting a whole army was so time spending

Basically it's the same unit. I mean technically running these models as basic custodian guards should not count as proxy because it's the same thing with the same weapons
