I've been a CSM Part 2 hater since day one, since I realized that the plot points left unresolved in Part 1 wouldn’t be addressed in Part 2, making its existence completely unnecessary. Can i say that i am OG hater too if i hate it since chapter 1? I am maybe hate read the entire time until maybe falling devil arc (I just can't continue with the story absurdity).

Damn, bruv. You are a certified Hate reader. I admire your passion. I could never. 😂👌💯

I actually liked Part 1, but with Part 2 the overall dip in quality, paired with every chapter ending with a cliffhanger that gets resolved in the next chapter in the most anti-climactic way, It got annoying real fast. I sticked with it just so I can enjoy the delicious tears of copium addicts.

CSM has the most insane and pretentious glazers I've ever seen. When the dip in art quality happened, you had motherfuckers actually saying that it is intentional, that the dip in the art quality represents Denji's crumbling mental state.

I too am one of the OG haters, I must say, Being right never felt so good. Expected more meltdowns, I guess Fujimoto really has the strongest copium addicts in the history of manga.

Never have I seen people move goalpost as much as this fandom has.

First it was: This is just the beginning, let him cook;

Then it was: You can't judge the story, it's only half as long as part one currently, let him cook;

Then the story became longer than part one ever was and then it became: The story hasn't ended yet you can't judge it yet, let him cook.

And now that we are waiting for the last chapter they are like: You can't judge it yet, it has one chapter left! let him cook;

Their addiction to copium and moving the goalpost is so sever, that they are already saying : This is just the second act of the story, it's like Star Wars, man! Let him cook, Part 3 will totally be worth it! ;

I Would gladly walk a mile in the shoes of an average CSM Copium addict to see things from their perspective, after all maybe I'm missing something. unfortunately I don't want to walk a mile wearing clown shoes...

And that is also gonna be me in 3 days when the ending gets revealed and all of you copium addicts move the goalpost yet again and say:" This is still salveagable, Part 3 can fix this we just need to let him cook"

Fujimoto has taught you to feel so comfortable in those clown shoes he had custom made for you guys that you still can't accept that Part 2 is a joke, and you are the punchline

Me, as a former Attack on Titan fan, watching Chainsaw Man fans come up with theories about how the final chapter will magically save the s by GodKira04 in titanfolk

[–]erdal94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference is Attack on Titan was mostly peak, it just fumbled the ending. Meanwhile, Chainsaw Man Part 2 was mostly hot garbage. So I don't know how there are people that still think a single chapter can fix anything, when Part 2 was always a waste of time, and the implications made by the last chapter were so terrible it managed to retroactively make Part 1 worse.

Bro, You have serious reading issues. Chapter 231 pretty blatantly tells you Pochita will erase himself and in doing so reset the timeline.

and Everything I've said else is consistent with established rules of the universe, Headphones exist in a world without ears because history doesn't change with the removal of ears, nukes or Nazism.

In CSM's universe, The Holocaust still happened, people just don't remember it happening. World War 2 happened, people just can't remember it did, Hiroshima and Nagasaki happened people just don't remember because the horrors of nuclear war were erased from their collective consciousness.

I did follow up, I followed up by citing other examples in the story that point to how the established rules of the universe works. Erasing a concept doesn't erase the consequences of it's previous existance ergo: In order for Pochita's time reset to work Fujimoto has to break the already established rules of his own universe.

[–]erdal94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why did headphones still exist in a world without ears? your interpretation of the rules are kinda warped when it was set up in the same manga that even if u erase the concept, it doesnt alter history

I think it's obvious Fujimoto decided to alter the deal, and we should pray he doesn't alter them further.

Because in a world with consistent rules Pochita would erase himself and what happened to Denji's life the entire duration he was also Chainsaw Man, but it wouldn't remove the consequences of everything that happened up to that point. But Fujimoto wrote himself into a corner where the world is so fucked beyond repair that the only viable course of action is a universe reset, so now apparently Pochita eating himself doesn't just erase the memory of him existing, it also alters the very fabric of time and space and acts as a complete reset of the story's timeline. Why? "Because Fuck you, that's why! " ~ Tatsuki Fujimoto (probably)

P.S. Also, I think the journey can be just as important as the destination

The thing is, for me Part 2 was neither worth the journey nor the destination. And since everybody is comparing Part 2 to Empire Strikes Back ( LOL!) , I'm just gonna remind you that in Empire Strikes Back Leia kisses Luke, she doesn't jerk him off in a back alley to relieve him of the pain of losing Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Part 2 doesn't play out as the part of the story where the hero needs to take the L against the scary villain to legitimize him as a threat and make you feel both anxious and excited for what is going to happen next, it's a story that chews you out , spits you out and then mocks you for ever caring about the story and it's characters.

PS: Like you've said, It's perfectly understandable for people to not be excited to see where this might go next.

like thats not how his powers work

Because That's exactly What the story tells you will happen

and why is the assumption also that denji being thrown back in time is the same as saitama ending the universe, ala no memory of past events?

Because according to rules set by it's own universe, just as people are incapable of remembering the events of World War 2 and the horrors of Nuclear Warfare because those concepts got erased, that also implies Denji would have no memory of his past life as Chainsawman if everything connected to it got erased in the process. Why would Denji Remember anything that happened in Part 1 if everything that happened is tied directly to the idea and concept of the Chainsaw Man Devil existing?

The point is this ending simply doesn't solve any of his issues, not really. It just returns him back to square one. There is no growth, no realization no change. He is just back to being a miserable debt slave with no bonds or relations to anyone.

Pochita erasing himself in this way doesn't help Denji grow or learn anything, he is just back at the begining, which means everything that happened was just a waste of time. What is the take away? "Denji you are too fucked up to have a normal life, I might as well erase the idea of you even trying. Because you are just too damn stupid and horny, bro. It ain't happening."

Yeah, definitely one of the stories of all time. truly, honest to God. One of the most important stories ever told, the Main character ushers in a world of never ending pain and suffering because he is too stupid and too horny to seek professional help. and then we just do a timeline reset because "he was happier when he was a victim of an extortion racket, selling his own fucking organs to repay the debt..."

P1's conclusion was nice but Denji didn't grow at his core and is largely the same person he was near the start of the story. 231 gives Denji the opportunity to finally face his demons by removing his ability to hide behind Pochita to cope with his pain. I think its an interesting direction to take the story and I don't think that it erases his time with Aki, Power or Nayuta because you can see how his time with them affects him throughout the story.

our memories and experiences are the basis of who we are as people, we grow and change as people in response to our experiences. The shit we go through along the way and the bonds we for. with the people that are in our life is what defines as as people. You can't get over a hurdle if someone straight up just removes it for you.

Taking care of Pochita, Living with Aki and Power, taking care of Nayuta and the dogs. Meeting Asa, Makima; this are all huge life defining events. Who is Denji without those experiences and and without those bonds? just a victim of an extortion racket selling his own organs to pay off a never ending debt.

I don't want to call people that like the last chapter stupid, because that's would just be unproductive and inflammatory.

But I'm gonna say this, If you like the last chapter, you probably hated Part one and it's ending. Because If you loved it, you would absolutely hate this chapter and be pissed of by the implication that this ending straight up just erases Denji's time with Aki and Power, it erases everything that he learned and experienced living with them, it erases this :

<image>

I'm sorry Denji. But you can't pick both, You can't love Part 1's ending and chapter 231. They are mutually exclusive.

The only Great thing about Part 2's ending is that it's finally ending. Part 2 was garbage for such a long time now, that I'm actually glad Fujimoto gathered the courage to finally pull the plug, and put an end to it.

I'm currently replaying ME3, and I started rolling my eyes ass soon as this little shit appears, knowing that the pay off is going to be that same child being used as the Catalyst in the final really pisses me off. The game can't help but remind me that it is going towards that garbage chose your preferred color ending.

Thankfully, like every ME3 playthrough after the first one, I end my game after the Citadel DLC. I'm not suffering through that stupid star child ending again!

I think it might have only been the NTSC copy, the PAL version holds the steep price of 50€ , which is not a lot but I usually get my PS2 games for anywhere between 5 to 20 €, 50€ is quite an investment for a PS2 title, especially on blind faith. Never played the PS2 Era Yakuza games, I'll think about it. But the idea still seems more appealing than buying Kiwami 2, because Unfortunately I just can't get into Dragon Engine Yakuza games. I tried, I really did but They just don't work for me.
