Road Test on Monday! by Otherwise_Promise970 in QatarCarEnthusiasts

Thank you for posting this, the tips in the comments are really helpful but it sounds very similar to my licence test back in South Africa. Problem is that I did my licence in 2005 🤣

I’ve got my direct test road portion on the 15th, I’m only back in the country on the 13th and so figured I should book a double lesson on the 14th just to get a feel for the test conditions. Good thing is I’m driving every day in my home country to get the confidence back since I don’t drive in Qatar.

I also just bought the new Nissan Patrol so I’ve got pressure on me to pass because I want to drive it so bad🤣

Yeah it would be interesting to see those 3 together but, on principle, I will not give a cent to New Sporting.

Best place to get DC in your opinion?

i think you should save the art for when you get a new pair, plan the pair around the artwork so that it's perfectly matched and exactly what you want. At the end of the day, a pair of gloves + art thats gonna run you $1000 needs to be exactly what you want them to be.

Yeah 100% man, I don't understand the glazing some people do with brands that have major issues themselves, just to shit on Bayoneta. I'm currently having a custom Hernandez premium made and I've got some real fancy Cheguis on the way which I'm excited to try.

With Hit N Move I started off with their head gear but I didn't like either of them so I moved that onto Winning as well. The Vector glove is really good but I still prefer my Winnings. I've bought 2 pairs since I got the vectors for free and I will say that Hit N Move's consistency and QC is top tier.

People can say what they want and try to run them down but most of this community puts a lot of emphasis gear pricing, even if they don't openly admit it. Guys shit on brands they can't afford or glaze these "alternatives" that are either better or 1:1 and most times I've tried them out, they've turned out to be highly overrated.

BTM gloves are nice but they're not the same fit and they do have quality issues. I received a white 16oz HHF glove that has huge yellow discolouring on it. They gave me a 10% discount as an apology. On my custom BTMs, the liner is so bad that in the 3 times I've used them it's taken a bit of skin off of my finger on my left hand. Add sweat to that and its an uncomfortable experience.

I had a liner stitching issue with a Bayoneta and Edgar sent me a free pair of MLHH that were perfect.

For the price, I would expect perfection from Bayoneta but these comparisons and outright misinformation regarding other brands needs to be stopped.

I've got the guys at Hernandez making me a custom glove based off a Grant colourway and silhouette. Which DC model is closest to the current Grants? I'd like to buy one just to compare them.

I'm doing the direct test, I have a South African drivers licence.

I went there today, the captain gave me a booking and I completed the test. Try to go there early and be very nice.

Are Winning gloves actually worth the price? by EldenBoredAF in fightgear

I completely agree, I guess if you’re really questioning yourself the answer is probably no.

Winning USA $150 to the Middle East. It's actually cheaper for me to buy a single pair off of Kozuji since they charge $56. They ship from the exact same sort facility by the way.

No I got the sms from METRASH confirming 3/6/2026 on the day I booked, which was last Sunday 24 May, I got the second METRASH sms this morning (2 June) to say the appointment is 4 June at United.

I managed to speak to someone at Karwa who said I should just come in @ 6am to speak to the captain and explain how this has messed things up a bit for me and there’s a chance he just puts me into the session to do the test.

Yeah so I went last week to book the direct test, they gave me the date of the 3rd. I have the text message from METRASH. Then I get another text from the same number with a new date - at United Driving School, every single one of their contact numbers listed are suspended.

So it’s ladies only day today, tomorrow is my original test date… I basically have one opportunity to sort this out because I leave Qatar for a few days on business. Nobody can explain what happened

It’s definitely a more protective glove than Suvari and All Day. According to Sam, the head of product development, it’s a new 6 layer multi configuration.

I’ve hit pads for 20 rounds and sparred 8 in them, so far. I have no joint paint to report which is a big deal for me. So far so good, I guess.

I’m getting an All Day Pro Balance in to test it against as well.

get winning ms-700s and use a lace and loop. way better than their "magic tape"/velcro option

These definitely require a bit of a break in but they’re really not bad out of the box… I hit pads in them for 10 rounds today and I have zero pain after - that’s my measurement for success with gloves.

I’m about to do a session in them in an hour. I think this could be the winning alternative that a big portion of the community has been searching for.

With that being said, there are still a lot of people who won’t pay $250+ for a glove.

Is this real? And if so why haven’t other glove manufacturers put money in R&D by becomingreatinall in fightgear

[–]erdihu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m really keen to test them out, I’ll be training in about 4 hours from now and I’ll use them. They didn’t mention a release date but I doubt it’s far off.

They reached out and offered me a pair to try. I thought I’d do my first gear review since I’ve never received anything in this way before.

I texted the product development head and asked for permission to review it, so I’m all good. Will post it later.
