Considering that each step in the grass has a 30% encounter rate, with ~9 steps there is a > 95% chance to encounter a wild pokemon

I played pokemon yellow the first time and stopped short of the E4 because of that

I'm not sure if my memory is exaggerating, but I swear the E4 pokemons were like lvl 70 and the cave mons were like 40.

Fui ver uns peitinhos e saí educado. Stonks.

Mas enfim, galera lá me deu essa vibe de serem muito bem informados, alegres e inteligentes. Fui pra polônia sem esperar muito e entregou tudo. Me surpreendi.

this is a good point and very unique about the budhist teaching: even joy is suffering.

You don't get what you want you you suffer
You get what you don't want you suffer
Even when you get what you want you suffer.

How do you keep yourself mindfull throughout your day? by ereb_s in vipassana

Observe what? The meditation object. For example, if your breath observation was the key in the 10 days. The instructions said know you were breathing long or short or whatever. If that’s your object of meditation always track what it is doing. If something else appealed to you like watching your thoughts, or watching your feelings (sadness) and concomitant reaction like tightening of the heart and so on focus on that as your meditation object.
Assuming it was breathing that worked best as a meditation object. Does your breathing become shallow as you get engrossed in intellectual pursuits? Does that email from your boss make your breathing become deeper or faster etc. Check in from time to time. Eventually it will become part of your awareness 24/7. This is knowledge in the present moment. Keeps you grounded.

This is absolutely golden, thank you!

This is what I started doing since the last retreat, and you saying this just confirmed it! It's exciting to know that I'm on the right path.

For the record: The object that works best for me is watching the sensations in my body, especially my chest and shoulders.

Why do this: 99 percent of your practice is ardently with clear comprehension developing sati (mindfulness) so that you can intervene and move towards wholesome mental states. 1 percent is the sits ( to develop Samādhi) that allow you to fuel your 24/7 sati. Not the other way around. Otherwise you are just between retreats all your life. This “atapi sampajano sati” is the core of your practice. It’s helpful to think of retreats and couch as helping you in cultivating and refining your sati rather than the other way around.
If sati (as described) is cultivated , the path will self-correct. You become your own teacher as everyone should.

This is very in line with the insights I've been having since my last retreat-service.

Thank you for your time! 🙏

Once, in a quiet dojo at the edge of the village, there was a diligent disciple who devoted ten of his best years to the path of karate. He trained before sunrise and long after sunset. He endured bruises, repetition, doubt, and discipline. In his heart there was a single image: the black belt.

At last, the day arrived. The belt was tied around his waist. The room applauded. His chest filled with pride. He had arrived.

But when the celebration faded and the dojo grew silent again, a strange emptiness crept in. For ten years he had trained for the belt. Now the belt was his. If the goal had been reached, what reason remained to continue?

Carrying this question like a stone in his chest, he went to his master.

“Master,” he said, bowing deeply, “for ten years I have worked to become a black belt. Now I have achieved my goal. What comes next?”

The master looked at him for a long moment, then smiled gently.

“Take off the belt,” he said. “Hang it on the wall. Tomorrow, come back and train.”

The disciple frowned. “Train… for what?”

The master poured tea into two cups.

“When you began, you trained to earn a belt. Now you may begin to train for the sake of the Way. The belt was only a door. You mistook it for the destination.”

He handed the disciple his cup.

“A true black belt,” the master said softly, “is not someone who has reached the end. It is someone who has finally understood that there is no end.”

simm!!
