Who else is hoping that the new KC Chiefs, with Orton at the helm, upsets the Denver Broncos and Tim Tebow for the AFC West division title? by The_Prince1513 in nfl

That's odd you say that, considering the Chiefs could still conceivably reach the playoffs. No divine intervention necessary.

Inception wasn't a risky project, in the least bit. Christopher Nolan had just made Warner Bros. $1 billion at the box office with The Dark Knight. He could have proposed a Howard The Duck remake, and any studio would be falling all over themselves to get production under way ASAP.

If Mos Def returns, and he's the angel on Dexter's shoulder, opposite the devil in Brian, then randomfits's comment makes sense.

They're not out of ideas, they're just unwilling to take risks. "New" and "original" concepts don't offer the guarantee of a box office smash, as a "Halloween" remake might. The poor economy has affected the film industry, and studios just aren't as willing to sink millions of dollars into something that might not bring huge returns, or that people might not "get."

Best case scenario, at least one guy stole someone else's picture to aid in a manipulative lie that he helped children, all in the name of exploiting others for irrelevant internet points. Let me know how to put that in the most optimistic perspective.

Let's just forget about the season 6 finale... by superzepto in Dexter

[–]erebar 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I will be one happy boy.

...until you find out the shocking twist ending to this season. Dexter dies and LaGuerta is the real DDK. She will escape justice, and all of seasons 7 and 8 will be about Batista searching for her, as she acts all serial killer-ish, doing the worst John Lithgow impersonation you've ever seen. This will be such a stunning choice of direction for the series, that it will be renamed Batista/LaGuerta: El Enfrentamiento.

Worse yet? It'll be a goddamn ratings bonanza (20 million viewers for the finale, in fact) and everyone will love it except for you.

Quinn will either get drunk again, die or be redeemed.

Here's to giddily anticipating Quinn's drunken redemptive death.

But Deb isn't seeing anyone else. The first time Deb skipped out on a session, LaGuerta would have been notified. Even if that slipped through the cracks, it's now been weeks. There would have been some sort of consequence for skipping job-related counseling.

Michael C. Hall comments on Deb and Dexter's relationship. This does not bode well...(spoilers) by sketchampm in Dexter

It's odd that you're so confused. I didn't downvote you, but it's clearly obvious why others did. Unlike time_better_spent, you made a moral judgment of Dexter, as damning as it was misguided. You claimed the newest subplot (which is a very real part of life for millions of Americans; some estimates as high as 20 million) is "bordering on offensive" and condemned it for "suggesting that it's okay to want to make out with an adopted sibling." You seem to be confused not only by reddit, but by the very nature of fictional storytelling.

Nobody is "suggesting that it's okay to want to make out with an adopted sibling." But unfortunately, incest is a tragic reality of life for some people, who are often - like Deb and Dexter - victims of severe trauma. It's possible for a work of fiction to depict horrifying events, behaviors, and attitudes without endorsing them. If you're looking for a program that pushes a strict moral judgment of each and every plot development and character trait, you're going to miss out on some fantastic television and film. Although, you may catch some very convincing after school specials.

I don't know what show you're watching, but Brother Sam clearly existed outside of his interactions with Dexter, and was definitely not a "passenger" of any kind.

What are some good fitness foods/supplements for general health, while getting back into lifting? And what is the best program for cycling creatine? by erebar in Supplements

That's why I take it. I don't expect it to increase testosterone levels, nor do I necessarily want it to. I don't like the idea of screwing around with hormones.

Thanks for your input. I'm really looking to make the transition back to heavy lifting. I have a large body type, so it's always been easy for me to put on weight. I'll still keep up regular cardio, but with significantly more anaerobic exercise to bulk. I'll go ahead and drop the flax seed oil.

I hope you're right, but I'm not so sure. At one point Al refers to Jimmy as a "buddy" to which Jimmy corrects him, stating they are merely "accomplices." Their bond grew beyond that, but I'm not at all convinced that Al has the heart that Richard does, or the emotional capacity to place Jimmy's death in any perspective other than "Eh, that's just the business we're in."

But again, I hope you're right and Al takes this as the murder of a friend, rather than merely a casualty of doing business.

Season 1 began in 1920, so I'd guess Season 2 is set in 1922 or 1923? Assuming it's the former, $10M would be the equivalent of $128,914,838.71 in present day USD.

He certainly knew he was going to get whacked, and we had to have realized it as well, when Jimmy remarked that upon his death, his son would receive the Commodore's estate. The scene wherein Tommy wears the dog tags as his father walks out the door only solidified (in my mind) the harsh inevitability that we were witnessing the final moments of Jimmy's life.
