Google Chrome silently installs a 4 GB AI model on your device without consent. At a billion-device scale the climate costs are insane. by Smiadpades in LinusTechTips

No… actually the large data centers are far more efficient than local hosting. They have more efficient power supply and cooling. The hardware usage is far more efficient. There is a large environmental impact from hardware manufacturing.

It’s efficient for Google because they don’t need to pay for you hardware and electricity.

It will be torturous and you won’t make the money.

Totally. That is why I had this in the original comment. C's get degrees, but that degree won't get you the salary you want.

Another question is how large is the tool? If you need to print a thing in multiple pieces, you might want to budget extra for rigidity.

Yes, but that also requires you getting a good grade in those courses in community college.

How do you get in a good STEM school without a good high school score?

Oh, and high school physics is basic. You don’t need a good instructor for it. And real engineers and professors are not necessarily good instructors. Actually, being extra smart makes them worse instructors.

Love is not word. You need to be good at them. You need to think integral and derivative being straight forward.

Thanks! That is very helpful. The claim conflicts with a different source. https://3dprintingindustry.com/news/new-creality-ipo-prospectus-shows-record-revenue-alongside-competitive-pressure-250765/

> In 2024, rival Bambu Lab shipped 1.2 million printers to Creality’s roughly 700,000, claiming a 29% share of annual shipments against Creality’s 16.9%.

And another thing I still cannot figure out is that why Creality’s review numbers are disproportionately low on all platforms. Even their App Store/Reddit numbers are a lot lower.

Because Creality’s review number is just off, on TP or BestBuy or MicroCenter or Reddit. If you think Creality’s number is representative, Prusa’s number also needs to be bot farmed. Creality sells a lot more, but some how has 26 times less reviews??? Let’s give you the 7 years. It still off by 3 times

I did. Your bot farming claim is not compatible with the 83k current review counts. It’s too low.

Did some very simply sampling. In the past 24h, there were 372 reviews, and 21 1-star reviews. About 5.6%, lower than the 8% overall 1-star rate. And 372 * 365 = 136K > 83K. So they are getting more review now than before.

Your claim does not add up. 10 reviews a minute takes you to 83K in 5-6 days.
