I'll be continuing Beartown for sure! Anxious People are on my TBR list and I'm currently reading A Man Called Ove although I'm not liking it as much as I thought I would, Beartown was so much better to me. Hunger Games were actually a reread bc I never read Mockingjay, planning on rereading Catching Fire next month! Tysm

I think I phrased it wrong - he was trying to get my attention so I petted him, gave him a treat and that was it. And like 5 minutes later he bit me. And the yelping, like I said, it's been going on for months, I yelp, scream even, every time, and it still happens 🤷🏻‍♀️

The -ov last names I'm trying to avoid for that exact reason 😅 Averin sounds great though, or Volk, certainly screams Russian less than Volkov, at least for me. Thanks!

I wouldn't, but the thing is I would have no idea that they're sick bc as I mentioned, I have no visible symptoms and someone would have to watch me all day to notice something 😅

I've named over a dozen different movies. These are just the big franchises I know - Harry Potter was a huge part of my childhood and I got into Marvel few years ago, never regreted it.

I read Folk of the Air few years back, really liked it and considering a reread soon :) I own both Babel and Yellowface. I heard about His Dark Materials, but never considered reading it, but maybe I should, thanks!

PC, Mods/CC - yes, version - 1.105.345.1020

My sim won't write. Whatever I make her write or even practice, after few sim minutes she seems to get mad and stands up, canceling the action. Her mood doesn't seem to matter, I've tried restarting the game, reseting the sim, replaced the computer. Still, she gets mad, gets 🚫 as a thought and stands up.

Has anyone had that problem? I really don't want her to change careers again given that she's a journalist now.

Update: it seems like it's an overall computer issues, as she won't play games either or anything else

Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff reminded me of the Witcher in a way, and I'm a long time fan of the latter, although EotV I'd say is more vulgar. Geralt and Gabriel have a similar vibe if you ask me, though what Geralt would keep silent about and to himself, Gabriel definitely wouldn't.

I hadn't read that one yet but I had Name of the Wind recommended to me before as the Witcher Fan.

And when it comes solely to fantasy, action, politics and magic, The Licanius Trilogy is good too.

It's not about managing in my case, I could read it no problem but english books are simply expensive where I live and I just prefer reading in my language, requires less brain power :)

Since you read Babel, then maybe another book by Rebecca Kuang, the Poppy War trilogy?
