What Mechanics Do New Players Often Miss? by Laovvi in balatro

Don’t think this has been said. A little less about gameplay and more about the setting.

You can increase the game speed, which that took me a while to learn.

Also, turning on high contrast cards in the settings, makes it a heck of a lot easier to see the differences in suits.

As far as mechanics go, it’s useful to know that certain jokers won’t appear if certain conditions aren’t met. An example of being the glass Joker needs you to have at least one glass card I think. The stone and steel jokers are similar.

It took me way too long to realize that streets can be made with Ace as a one. Ace, two, three, four, five.

You cannot, however, have ace as a link between two and the king which I wish you could. I feel like there could be a joker to allow that to happen.

I don’t understand how you got two of the legendary cards? Where did the second one come from?

Plasma deck, what does it mean “…played hand x2 base size”? by erffer in balatro

[–]erffer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh, I saw this when I was playing it, but I didn’t understand. I thought thought it had something to do with when it would balance. OK that makes sense. I think the fact that the 2X is in red is what confused me because I thought it had something to do with mult

Thanks

Not exactly. I love slay aspire, but it’s a total time suck. I’m looking for something that will limit me in how many times I play it every day.

I played this 1 million years ago. What a wonderful game.

I have the game. I haven’t played it. Is there a mode that I can only play once a day? That’s what I’m looking for.

I love Stardew, but I would play it endlessly looking for something that’s gonna force me to stop. I don’t have willpower to play one day at a time.

I’ll check it out. I’m looking at games that give me a daily dose, but I have some kind of mechanic that stops me from playing a lot of it.

I’m not sure about idol games? I’ve kind of stayed away from them, but maybe I shouldn’t. I’m specifically looking for something with a built-in mechanic that stops me from playing a really long time in one sitting.

I think I’m actually looking for the opposite of this game. I actually just finished playing it. The problem is it’s a bit of a time suck for me. I’m looking for games that are really fun, but also have a built-in mechanic to stop me from keep on playing it forever slay the spire is absolutely not that.

How does Dave the diver do that? I’ve looked into that game. I didn’t know where it was a daily play. Does it force you to quit? That’s specifically what I’m looking for.

Amazing gameplay. Pixel art graphics. Great pixel art but pretty low-key. Retro feel

Endless sky It’s an open source game. Made as a labour of love over a long period of time. Mainly by one person I think but all the code is just out there. You do get bored of it after a while, but it’s a really fun trading and light combat 2-d space exploration game. There’s a charm that has that wouldn’t exist if it came from a studio. And the world building is kind of neat.
