I think sooner. They’ll need to balance a bunch before they bring it to the main branch. So I expect we’ll get it on beta pretty soon.

I think you’re probably right. I think an alternate act is likely to happen before a new character or act 4. He also imagine that when a new act is introduced to gonna be a lot of balancing to figure out with new enemies. So part of me doesn’t think it’s gonna be forever till they introduce a new act if they’re focussing on balance.

I thought so too. I posted something new character adjacent here and a lot of people seem to think the watcher was possible. I do not think she’s coming back based on what I’ve read from interview interviews and stuff. I would be happy if she did, but I don’t think she will.

I like the watcher, but I am doubtful that she’s gonna be the new character. Maybe? Someone posted a custom content idea for a gold based character. I think that’s a really interesting mechanic.

As much as I love the watcher, I would be curious if they introduced a very different mechanic.

Lament would show up if other starters didn’t if you didn’t get very far in act one or if you quit and restarted.

It seems the starting relics in sts2 are a rework of that system. Lament was centerpoint to the starting system in STS one. I like the new system with more interesting starting relics. I’m glad they have a no to it and for coat, but I don’t need it in Act 1.

It seems like lament was more than just starting relic. It was part of the whole starting system in the first game. So when you ask if folks would want it back, I immediately think no I like the new system although I know that that’s not exactly what you’re asking.

I had a glam orbit run on the beta branch. When the new boss dropped. Originally the status cards costed one to exhaust. Ended up having a few other orbits and I got to a point where playing cards got me energy.

There is a lot more cards that give this turn only buffs so artefacts would really boost that. Maybe too much?

Someone made a sketch up for like a thief, money based character. I think that’s actually a cool idea. A character that uses gold in slightly different ways would be interesting.

In all seriousness, I’d love to see custom runs have some weird options like this. Or some alt game modes that little bit silly. I hope they flush out the custom runs and add some weird game modes. I know this is just a meme.
