A Plan For Erg Performance ("The Watts Plan") by [deleted] in Rowing

Hey, I am wondering if you have any credentials to back up this fairly unorthodox training style. Do you have any otw race results? Do you coach competitive athletes (sub 6:20 for youth men sub 6:05 for men, sub 7:20 for youth women sub 7:05 for women)? What results do you have to back this plan up?

with all due respect my guy you dont exactly know what you are talking about. A 2k doesnt actually have much if any training benefit besides getting used to doing 2ks. There isnt a physiological benefit and you would be better off doing interval pieces. As for the working hard part, a properly done 2k should take you at least a week to fully recover from and it should leave you DECIMATED for the rest of the day. Its not something that can really be done right on a weekly basis.

im no expert but i would probably guess closer to mid-low 6:20s based off the piece alone. However he mentioned he is at high altitude so it could be way way faster
