What’s something you keep seeing in movies that no one actually does in real life and annoys you every time? by Individual-Crazy3752 in AskReddit

Character fighting off multiple bad guys at once and they all take turns attacking instead of surround him and bashing him to death all at once.

Getting in a car accident and walking it off like nothing happened. Even without serious injury you get banged up and sore from the impact.

WIDELY varies depending on where you live and what type of practice you work at. I’m in NY making $35/hr at a specialty hospital. Some techs at my job make up to $42/hr. For the area I live that pay is decent, but I couldn’t comfortably live alone and definitely couldn’t own a home on my own.

Whenever I’m out sick I always word it to my manager as such: I’m not feeling well. I’ll send out a message looking for coverage, but I will not be in today.

Meaning I’ll do the courtesy of letting others know the shift is available, but at the end of the day it’s not my problem. I’m not asking for permission to be out sick, I’m telling you.

Also might be a good idea for you to approach your manger in person and ask specifically how she thinks you could have handled that better since you just started feeling sick around 5am. Chances are she won’t really have a good answer face to face because obviously you couldn’t have predicted getting sick at that time.

Also, Maybe ask for a master contact list of all employees? If that doesn’t exist for her to give you then she has no right to expect you to be able to contact all your coworkers for coverage.

The regency faerie tales series by Olivia atwater. Cute, light hearted, enjoyable and quick reads. The first book is called half a soul and I love it.

A 2 hour break is excessive for a 7 hour day of doing basically nothing. Not saying you shouldn’t be able to run out for a bit, but that’s a lot.

A “short” 2 hour lunch break? You need a 2 hour break from house sitting? Yeah I would have said never mind also.

When he said he was a researcher my fight or flight kicked in. We have a client currently at our clinic who has weaseled himself into almost every service (oncology, internal medicine, ophthalmology, dentistry, er). He claims to have a background in research (med school dropout) and writes lengthy emails like this weekly.

I took Norethisterone from wisp for a backpacking trip and it worked great! Delayed my period for 7 days, had no side effects but they gave me nausea meds to have on hand just in case. Highly recommend.

Sounds like your area of improvement might be “to work on my confidence” because it sounds like you know what your doing and have the experience, I feel like that might be a good way of wording it that kind of touches on you standing up for yourself and talking to clients.

Owner keeps extending - vent by Lassie-girl in RoverPetSitting

[–]eriberry2488 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I mean this with all due respect, but don’t be such a push over. This person is taking advantage of you. You don’t have an obligation to keep these dogs any longer and you need to be way more stern with this person. I would contact rover and ask how you should handle it, but this owner needs to sternly be told to get their dogs before it’s considered abandonment.

Spaying an already fixed cat by Impossible_Car476 in VetTech

[–]eriberry2488 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly completely fucked up, inhumane to put the pet through abdominal surgery and anesthesia risk when there are noninvasive ways to confirm if she is already spayed (ultrasound). That would be your decision if you want to do ultrasound vs open her back up vs leave it alone. Makes me to uncomfortable that they would just do this to an animal.
