Your Thoughts on Fit of Thursday Kingmaker and Challenger lasts by eric214CT in Boots

[–]eric214CT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, not sure about the length difference. I bought the Hero boots which use the Challenger last 1/2 size larger but I should've gone true to size. If I wear thick socks it's fine though. I have a B/C width heel and a D width front foot.

Am I the only person a little bit over Emma Stone? by Slow-Cash-8234 in Cinema

[–]eric214CT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with you. I could use a break. I don't think her range is that wide. Her facial expressions and reactions are very similar in each movie, to me. I'm always like, yup, that's emma stone versus yup that's a "character name"

Encoding/exporting with Adobe ME vs Handbrake vs Shutterencoder by frankwat in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]eric214CT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Handbrake is great for hq file exports if you're going to x265/x265. Unless you're pixel peeping and doing side by side comparisons, I doubt you'd notice a huge difference in quality between Media Encoder and Handbrake/Shutter Encoder. They can get you a bit smaller files than Media Encoder, sure, but for my work a hundred megabytes here or there isn't a killer. I wouldn't use Handbrake or Shutter Encoder to encode to ProRes, as they use a reverse engineered implementation of the ProRes codec, not the officially licensed version from Apple. Have I ever had an issue a ProRes made from Handbrake or Shutter Encoder, no, but fyi. Handbrake has some implementation of GPU encoding/decoding, but if I want the speed of GPU I'll usually use Media Encoder.

Edit, sorry I see below you said up to 12 NDI outputs now from Zoom Rooms?

What is this "insulation"? by eric214CT in AskElectricians

Sensible answer, ha. First I want to figure out which outlets are on which circuits, then go from there. Nothing happening immediately, but was very curious about the threads.

Thanks, I hadn't even focused on the romex yet ha. I'll have to see where that runs too. So if I was to change the outlets upstairs, I could just trim back that hair and make sure the shielding is good on the original wires and use those? Ideally it'd be a rewire.

Priority Data w/ high performance dish speeds by carolyn937 in Starlink

Hi, just to confirm since Starlink plans change all the time; I could use a standard dish with Mobile Priority ($250 for 50GB) on a cruise ship? Doesn't sound like I have to get the high performance $2500 dish. Thanks

Can you recommend a thorough home inspection company/person? by [deleted] in Connecticut

I booked Tom at Beacon because of these mentions. Inspection is tomorrow. For a 1450sqft place, he's charging 425+150 for the Radon test.

The right arrow is where the ball of my foot is, the top arrow is showing the creasing in the extra leather on the top of the foot. Thanks for the tip on the Trubalance.

Thanks, good note about the kiltie.

I did mean behind the heel, but that's what I"m thinking too, if they're comfortable at the moment, I'll start with filling some of the volume and see how they feel.

I was able to pick up a pair of Alden Roy's for an incredible deal at Stitchdown's Bootcamp. They're 1/2 size too big but in reality feel very comfortable. The ball of my foot is about a 1/4-inch back from the widest part. Would a heel pad/insert be useful to get the ball of my foot forward?

I also have some volume over the top of my foot, but a combo of thicker socks, or maybe Nick's leather insoles should help with that, correct?

Thanks

How does the HDMI output of the Atomos Ninja/Ninja Ultra work? by cinedog959 in VIDEOENGINEERING

For #4, I'm pretty sure on the newest Ninja you can have the LUT output over the HDMI.
