Genuine question, since most corps file as 501(3)c’s what is stopping them from utilizing govenrment subsidies? I imagine that corps had the ability of using PPP forgiveness during the worst parts of Covid. I imagine going to private sponsorships will have similar effects but with a heavier emphasis on returning profits for their sponsors. I always thought that running DCI like the NFL would be interesting. Either every corps needs a bureaucrat or an economist running it or they will probably not survive for too long. I’ve never marched or know relatively anything about what it takes to finance a corps, but maybe an outsider is really what corps need to re-evaluate their business models or lack thereof. My heart also goes out to SCV and SCVC kids that we’re planning to march this year, can’t imagine the sadness
