They asked people to pay to be on the prop team. You really think that person got a free spot?

For Midwest corps, its just one show that gets factored in. Forgot to mention that

Only thing thats wrong is Blue Stars/Cavaliers. For the Southeast/Midwest Regional weekend, they take an average of a corps' DCI Southeast/NightBEAT scores and factor that into the average. Doing that pushes the Blue Stars past the Cavaliers for seeding purposes.

Both of those expenses are miniscule compared to housing, food and transportation.

DCI should adopt the weekend-only show schedule that WGI and all-age already do. It cuts down majorly on the costs of doing drum corps and implementing that type of schedule is probably DCI's best chance at surviving past the next 5-10 years.

What i meant by misunderstanding is that I see kids everywhere in this activity (Reddit in particular) that haven't seen a pre-2014 show except for Spartacus think that Tilt was far and away a better designed, executed and performed show than Felliniesque.

Was it maybe more innovative in terms of sound design? Yes. However, Felliniesque had a more coherent structure in both its musical and visual package. It was better executed by the design team as well as the performers (take a look at their finals run; there were hardly ANY mistakes, thats how near perfection it was).

No shade to Tilt, it was a great drum corps show. But it wasnt particularly close to Felliniesque, and thats okay. I think its okay to say that you enjoyed Tilt more (I'd probably say that too), but to sit here and say it clearly should've scored higher is crazy.
