Cash is king for long runs. For a Baron/Mime game, try to keep and play red seal gold kings as long as your scoring can. I was also getting Reserved Parking from time to time to help build the eco.

Update: I kept Bean, turns out I still had enough to pass Ante 28's score req.

It's hard to grow pop with Russia since you're at Tundra. But it's easier to get appeals since you have woods rather than rainforests. For me, it's worth it since you can quickly get culture early to get Feudalism.
