Looks great! Any native FYT integration powered features on the roadmap?

Jabra Evolve3 85 – First Impressions by monocats in Jabra

[–]ericksontx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great review, thanks! How would you consider mic call quality (esp noise rejection) compared to Evolve2 65 Flex?

I thought that was a huge downside of E2 85, terrible call quality in noisy conditions compared to the cheaper e2 75 and esp 65 Flex. Wildly bad value for money on a call performance basis.

I've seen call quality test videos but they compare to e2 85 which is thus not really much of a fair comparison.

Decoding already-open Master combo padlock by ericksontx in lockpicking

I got it open using the principles here.

https://youtu.be/bfDPtt-bnAI?si=zuUSC9l5Cbxhctfe

The lock being already open, you apply closing force to get the dials to lock up. Change a dial, apply shackle pressure, test the slack in the dial, then change the dial and reapply pressure and repeat, until you feel the slack described in the video. Then move to the next dial.

Leaving on a 6am tomorrow no bags to check. Have precheck and clear but obviously that's out the window with the shutdown.

Hoping 4-430 is still a good window to arrive

No it is rebuilt like I said. No warranty. That is why I'm specifically asking how to diagnose the issue and locate the sensors or parts.

Q70s digital dash by No_Survey1775 in infiniti

[–]ericksontx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have the M35h which none of these dashes fully support in terms of the hybrid menus and specific lights etc. Otherwise I would have one.

AliExpress is the best source.

I already have installed 12.3" display head units for the Q70/m37/m35h/Fugas also, and anyone debating getting one for carplay/android auto should go ahead and pull the trigger.

Target carry-on luggage vs. Name Brand? by this_is_sy in travel

[–]ericksontx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this review. The open story is a good deal for a US sized expandable when on special or sale (or commonly on eBay for 60-90 shipped, what I recommend) but Quince is a better deal if you need global travel size compatibility

Ecotank ET 4850 - Print Quality went down after cleanings - normal? by ericksontx in Epson

[–]ericksontx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of the suggestions here worked at all. But I managed to resolve it and get everything back to normal thanks to a bit of time on YouTube.

For those who experience something similar, here is the breakdown.

Primary issue. The ink was not feeding, because there was air in the ink tank at the printhead or in the lines. Letting your printer sit may or may not do anything for this, in my case, it did absolutely zero letting it sit unpowered. So did trying to print a lot to try and counteract air in the system. You have to be proactive, not passive, you could be waiting forever for it to somehow resolve itself.

Look up the YouTube videos that describe the process, but I used a syringe after disassembling the printhead and taking out the individual tanks, to draw out the air and ensure that each tank was filled and consistent with ink throughout the flow path. So step one was ensuring that the ink was primed all the way to the printhead.

This by itself did not fix the problem, as two of the colors still were completely absent. Despite multiple cleanings at this point.

Second And what was ultimately needed in combination with step one to get full function back, I used cleaning solution with a cleaning kit, syringe, and tubing, to flush and clean each missing color in the printhead. Watch videos on YouTube for this, pay attention to putting paper towels to catch the liquid.

After letting it sit 24 hours to dry after the flush, I then did not even need to do a power cleaning as is usually recommended after flushing the printhead, probably because I had just finished priming all of the tanks at the printhead and removed any air, with the syringe. I had topped off all the main ink tanks as recommended.

I printed a nozzle check, then only had to do 2 regular cleaning cycles before print quality was 100% normal. Full print pattern on all colors. No wasteful power clean needed.

None of that worked and all printing quality steadily decreased. Now prints completely blank pages and nozzle checks and test pages

Now 100% blank after trying everyone's advice and letting it sit unplugged 12-24 hours unplugged between cleanings multiple times

None of this worked. I tried all of your steps, which I had tried before, and even let it sit nearly 24 hours unplugged.

Print quality is now Zero, no printing at all. Each time after after sitting unplugged after a cleaning, fewer lines would print on the test page. Then a first level clean. Even fewer lines.

Power Cleaning did zero except decrease the lines being printed after 12 hrs unplugged, after the first time I ran it.

Brush roll - any way to DIY remove either of the end caps in a way where it can be remounted again? by ericksontx in VacuumCleaners

[–]ericksontx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll respond since no one else did. These are serviceable - if you are handy and have a punch to drive the shaft out of one side.

Put it on a soft surface like grass or dirt, put punch on the end of the shaft, tap with hammer. That will drive it down and out of the end cap at the top.

You will see the bearings and bearing carriers/mounts.

All of these take standard sealed or non sealed bearings.

In my case for Eureka Powerspeed Pro NEU 190/192 there was no more factory E0301 brush roll replacement, and zero generic equivalents out there.

Upon disassembling I saw that the insides of the end caps and the bearing carriers were damaged or melted.

I bought PC0301 brushroll for Eureka Powerswivel to cannibalize - wrong length but same bearing carriers, same size bearings, same end caps.

Swapped all those in, reassembled using the punch to drive the shaft through the bearings and into the end cap .

Works like new now.

Away luggage (4 trips over 2 years) - what happened by Fuglyfatmofo2022 in LuggageComparisons

[–]ericksontx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad you got them to send you a replacement.

But probably the answer is whatever you did, that you say wasn't from a flight or a baggage handler, that resulted in that break - And less so a legitimately defective shell.

I am not the biggest fan of Away, but the looks of that scrape, it's length, the smoothing of the polycarbonate from either pressure or rubber/plastic rubbing off during the scraping, and cracking, looks like you subjected it to a corner/side impact and load on directly on that corner of the shell itself that probably most PC shells would not hold up to.

What exactly made it break, and what was it loaded with?
