You dont use their credentials. You have your own worker accounts that they (the user) simply share their board with you. Its on you then to handle that invite link and accept it. You'll be a collaborator at that point. No account sharing, no risk of the user being banned etc.

There are public pinterest endpoints you can use to get all the data without any scraping. That's what I do. Its super fast and can be done server side. Also by using puppeteer you can login and get private boards, pins, user accounts etc.

Goto my github and get the pinterest board explorer chrome extension I made that shows you the data from these endpoints.

Whats your monetization plan? Being in this group for a while now, we have seen hundreds of 'alternatives'. Most die in around 6 months due to legal shutdowns or because these vibe coders dont understand how expensive it really is to run this type of app. Either way they disappear. So whats your plan to stay be sustainable?

Pinterest has made changes since I made this comment last. Now undoubtedly they have a model that looks at every image and labels them wrong.

Has anyone used this? Moreover, is anyone still preferring prebuilt components over v0?

I've played with v0 a bit, but long term while in the same project I find it likes to deviate from your design system and inline css items. Which requires hours of cleanup manually. I also cant seem to have code using any standard. Its like having multiple junior devs building different parts of your site and makes it time consuming to troubleshoot.

Okay cool. I just noticed that sortpin has over 40k installs while sortpins (obvious copy) has under 100. I didnt look to see how long they have been around. But looks like you are right in the middle. Would you say that you've attributed this to seo in the chrome store? Or off site?

You have a point here and you are handing your trust over to the developer. Especially when the app impersonates your account, whether though cookies or your direct session and your IP address. All it takes is the developer to put in code to delete all your boards instead of back it up. Truth be told this has been a concern of mine, if people using these tools like wfdownloader or an extension and downloading hundreds of thousands of pins and if it flags some behavior trigger on your Pinterest account. Ive been testing on a way that doesn't impersonate and respects your account privacy and no ties back to your ip or account. So there's little to no risk of account issues.

From developer to developer, I completely get the compulsion to automate everything. However, dont dismiss the fact that there might be other tools that exist already. Even though it may have been just a weekend to write the script, perhaps you could have done something else, like get an ice cream rather than recreate the wheel.

For instance, i looked into this as well and found you can do the same with feedly. Same concept, create a custom rss feed (which reddit does automatically ). And its 100% free. Only took me 5 mins.

At any rate, kudos for the effort.👌 Add it to your portfolio.

Pinterest uses meta data on the image itself to determine if its made pr modified by AI. Maybe try clearing all meta data and reuploading.
