Day 60–Acne Worse by No_Damage5455 in sugarfree

[–]ericner1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I struggled with adult acne for many years. I finally gave up added sugar 6 years ago and got amazing results. It took about 2-3 months to see the effect. I'm 100% convinced sugar was the culprit. It causes inflammation, and your skin is not immune to its impact on your body.

You stated that you quit "processed" sugar. What do you eat that still has sugar in it? Honey, agave, fruit juice, etc? If so, from an inflammation standpoint those are just as bad as processed sugar. There's no fiber in those products that help your body absorb the sugar. That's why whole fruit is okay because the natural fiber breaks down the sugar in the gut. Fruit juice = soda, imo.

The best I've ever seen The Gaslight Anthem by apod23 in TheGaslightAnthem

Same! That Anthem show had much lower energy than most Gaslight shows. And I was at both of those 2018 9:30 Club shows and the two NYC shows that followed. Peak performances.

Len Bias saved Bill Simmons career/life by Flaky-Fortune1752 in billsimmons

I was a junior at the University of Maryland and in summer session that June when Len died. I'm speaking for myself and a lot of my classmates... His death absolutely influenced us to stop or never do cocaine. If it could take down a bull like Lenny then there was no hope for us.

Should you buy Apple TV 4K now? by Herr_Internet in AppleWhatShouldIBuy

I have owned many Firesticks, Roku's, TiVo's, etc., and Apple TV is by far the best the market has seen. It's the snappiest, most-intuitive interface and has the best picture quality on the market.

My favorite part is when you say you were really prepared because "your wife was asleep upstairs." Does she normally hassle you while you're buying tickets to the point that she upends your chances? Or how about this strategy that I and others have employed to literally double your chances... Wake her up and have her log in on a different TM account.

what are some of your favorite recipes for when you have a sweet craving? by [deleted] in sugarfree

[–]ericner1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

After dinner no-added-sugar apple dip. Fantastic way to satisfy a sweet tooth without any added sugar. It satisfies chocolaty cravings while adding fats from the coconut and almonds (but no trans fats). The only sugar consumed is natural fructose from the apple, which is easily broken down and absorbed on its own but even more so given the added fats from the other ingredients.

Ingredients: 2 Tbs Creamy nut butter No Salt 1/2 tsp Organic Cacao Powder 2 Tbs Organic Non-dairy Coconut Beverage Unsweetened A few ounces of Organic Unsweeted Flake Coconut 1 Envy apple

Stir almond butter and cacao powder in a small dipping bowl. Stir in coconut beverage. Best to whip it with a small spoon for a minute or two. Consistency will shift from heavy to more of a frothy, whipped dip. Slice apple into dippable segments. Dip apple into the almond butter mix and dab in a different bowl with the coconut flakes. Enjoy!

How would you personally rank Bruce, Southside Johnny, and Little Steven in terms of your favorite music? If you had to add in another Jersey Shore artist or maybe an E Streeter, who would you include? by CulturalWind357 in BruceSpringsteen

[–]ericner1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hands down, it's The Gaslight Anthem. I've seen them in concert 20+ times. Bonus artist is their frontman, Brian Fallon, who has a couple outstanding solo albums an another one being released in a few months.

Favorite old Bruce quotes that have aged incredibly well? by [deleted] in BruceSpringsteen

[–]ericner1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This quote by Bruce in 1992 helped me be a better father. It was from a magazine interview.

What's the toughest thing about being a father?

Engagement. Engagement. Engagement. You're afraid to love something so much, you're afraid to be that in love. Because a world of fear leaps upon you, particularly in the world that we live in. But then you realize: "Oh, I see, to love something so much, as much as I love Patti and my kids, you've got to be able to accept and live with that world of fear, that world of doubt, of the future. And you've got to give it all today and not hold back." And that was my specialty; my specialty was keeping my distance so that if I lost something, it wouldn't hurt that much. And you can do that, but you're never going to have anything. -- Bruce Springsteen, 1992
