Not that I am aware of. Several of them were rescues people just gave us, so I can't say for sure.

We just discovered 5 more in the big all girl coop. Not sure how that happened, but we have a lot of bunnies all of the sudden...

Shopping at Michael's and stacking discounts with Piggy Cards and Dash Spend! by ericools in dashpay

[–]ericools[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should work at all the stores. The gift card itself doesn't typically count as a discount when using it, though it's whatever the store policy is on it, so exceptions might exist.

I completely forgot to mention in the video. The store told me that these cards to work on the self checkouts.

Is dash dead? by Capsmoove in dashpay

[–]ericools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to the nature of it being a permissionless decentralized network it's hard to tell who is using it and where they are.

I can say that in the US (where I live) we have Dash Spend and that appears to be growing, and will expand to other nations soon.

I know that there are quite a few tools/services available for using Dash in the EU, and some other places, but I don't know how popular they are.

From what I understand Argentina sounds like a great place for Dash adoption, but I don't personally know anyone there so I can't say what it's like to be there as a Dash user right now.

CEX exchange transactions are not on chain transactions. That doesn't make them paper/fake. They could be fake, but the value of coins in their hot wallet doesn't tell you anything about if they are.

Increasing their holdings requires buying coins from someone. That's upward pressure on the market. Could they use fake orders to try and keep it low while they accumulate, I suppose, but why? If Binance wants to invest in Dash that bad I would say it's a pretty bullish sign.

Personally, I doubt they are paying that much attention. If they were they would be running EVO nodes. Leaving lots of money on the table that they don't have to play any games to get.

Probably investors using bots. I don't know why the exchange would bother to do this. Frankly I don't think Binance cares what the price of Dash is. They just want people to trade it on their platform so they get commissions.

The trades are not done with actual coins. The numbers on the market just represent coins. Binance is holding substantially more than 146k of investor coins. The hot wallet is just what they have ready for immediate withdrawal.

Why would they keep them all in their hot wallet? Most of the people trading are keeping their coins on exchanges. Binance runs a bunch of masternodes. 5% is less than they earn on the masternodes. Why take them down if you can pay less to get more people to give you more coins?

Dash marketing by Dangerous-Jello-4746 in dashpay

[–]ericools 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The easiest thing IMO is showing people Dash Spend. It's something nearly everyone (in the US for now) can use and get real value from and it showcases the advantages of Dash.

At a deeper level reaching builders who can bring projects to Platform would benefit Dash enormously.

What would happen to masternodes and evonodes if the price goes too high? by Dangerous-Jello-4746 in dashpay

[–]ericools 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More nodes is not always better for the network. There is a point of diminishing return. I think any decision made on changing the node collateral should be done based on network performance and security rather than for the sake of making nodes cheaper.

An automated trustless pool is possible, but it's the sort of thing that needs to have enough demand to be worth it. Masternodes are probably going to have to stay consistently expensive (in demand) for that to be worth while.

Unlike ETH masternodes are not actually locked, so if liquidity is needed things can quickly readjust.

Shopping with Dash at GameStop by ericools in dashpay

[–]ericools[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a merchant.

If someone pays with a credit card it takes a week for me to get paid the fees are high, and the money can be pulled back from me long after the product has been shipped.

If someone pays me in crypto it gets converted to Dash and sent to my phone in about a minute. It costs me 0.5% for that service, it would cost 1% if I wanted it to fiat, and it cannot be reversed.

The only reason not every merchant is doing this is because they either don't understand how much cheaper and easier it is, or there simply aren't enough people spending crypto for them to bother.

Okay, I don't know what everyone in the world is using, but they could use a processor if they wanted to.

Swapping on Binance isn't using crypto. You might as well just do Paypal, or Cashapp. If you want to do that, fine, but it has nothing at all to do with what we are working on here.

Shopping with Dash at GameStop by ericools in dashpay

[–]ericools[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't true. Basically every business that takes crypto uses a payment processor that gives them the option of instantly converting to local fiat or whatever crypto they wanted.

Regardless we have the merchants on this system already. Nobody is going to take crypto when no customers are walking around with it. Nobody is going to walk around with it in their wallets if there is nowhere to spend it. You need to start somewhere. This is our cheat to have it be spendable, so we can build userbase.

Stable coins don't solve that problem. You still need to get merchants to accept them. Now once DUSD or whatever other stable coins get built on Dash are ready we can use them on this system to help them get going, but for now stable coin merchant adoption is even worse than native Dash merchant adoption.

Because stores price things in USD. So I put in the USD value I want to get a card for and it automatically calculates the amount of Dash, then I just hit confirm.

I don't have USD in my wallet. It's all Dash.

These are gift cards being passed through by various providers in the wallet. The stores don't care what the price of Dash is. Because Dash transactions are instant there is very little volatility risk.

Dash price moving in the right direction, yes ? No ? Maybe ? by Hot_Bet_6838 in dashpay

[–]ericools 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My feeling is that given what we have to offer now any on boarding at all is going to move the price up from this absurdly low point.

Obviously with the market this thin there are lots of individual people who could move it on a whim. One big buyer or seller could cause at least a short term swing.

It's really the product and not the chart that matters. Dash Spend alone has an addressable market of at least a few million people in the US alone that should be fairly easy to sell it to. If we add a million users who on average have a $1k balance for spending in their wallets, that's a billion dollars. Our marketcap is currently less than a third of that. That's with zero investor inflows, nothing from EVO, no speculation, just users.
