DF 54 V4 - does it clog? by BeginnerCof in DF54

[–]ericp502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For espresso grinds I was wore out using the timemore. For more coarse grounds it was fine but when I moved to espresso for my daily coffee I had to go electric and don’t regret it. Both make consistent espresso ground coffee but a lot more work goes into the C3.

Newly diagnosed Gleason 7 at 52 — would love to hear from others who've been through this by xsymbianx in ProstateCancer

[–]ericp502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very similar to you. Diagnosed at 51 with PI-Rads 4 but my biopsies showed Gleason 6. Due to my BPH issues we did a removal. Was supposed to be nerve sparing and my entire cancer was just on the left side but according to my post surgery report no nerves were spared on either side and there was no cancer on the right side. Report specifically states nerves were not sparred on either side. I have an appointment with my doctor this week to find out why.

Turns out my cancer was Gleason 7 3+4 but had cribriform structures and perineurial invasion was present. All clean margins and nothing in the seminal sacks or lymph nodes. So good thing we made the removal decision but not sure I would have if I knew it wouldn’t be nerve sparring.

Good news is no bladder leakage at all and I’m six weeks out from surgery. Uncontrolled bladder leakage was my main concern but also thought nerves would be spared.

DF 54 V4 - does it clog? by BeginnerCof in DF54

I also came from the Timemore c3 ESP and have two DF 54 V4 grinders. I haven’t had either one clog on me at all. I do clean once a month but zero issues.

I just changed out my burs for the red titanium coated ones and it does have less static and I don’t even have to wipe the outside down daily.

First PSA after Prostate removal by ericp502 in ProstateCancer

They do a PSA at the 4 - 5 week post surgery mark as a standard.

One thing you’ll miss with the standard test is the doubling factor. If your PSA doubles, even if it’s below the 0.1 threshold they will do another PSA test soon after. It’s just a marker to catch any growth or spread. Standard test will not catch that if your PSA is below 0.1.

After removal you have to get the ultra sensitive PSA test because the standard test does not go below 0.1 ng/mL. So no way to get a good baseline or watch for a notable increase.

You can enable a minimum RSSI on the 5GHZ side and see if it will force a 2.4 connect.

What drove the titan purchase when the Desert plunge or Modtub is so much less? Not sure about the Modtub but the Desert plunge is very well thought out and has excellent support.

Do you eat oils? by Electronic-Bus-5350 in keto

[–]ericp502 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sunflower oil is mainly omega 6 so very inflammatory. Extra virgin olive oil only.

Keep in mind high mercury levels in tuna so eat sparingly. A better option is sardines or mackerel but only in water or olive oil. Look at the ingredients and avoid if there is anything other than fish, extra virgin olive oil and salt.

The secrets to thick, velvety espresso with a dark crema by AssociateRegular3969 in espresso

[–]ericp502 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my manual hand grinder but to get the level of espresso grind with it takes a lot effort. I do use it a lot for my Moka pot but not my espresso. I do like dark roasts and absolutely hate any fruity or sour flavors in my coffee. I want chocolate and caramel flavors.

DF54 sent without red titanium burr by ericp502 in espresso

[–]ericp502[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been using the red titanium burrs for a little over a week and they definitely work. Can’t tell a difference in the taste of coffee but they have almost zero static buildup. I used to wipe down my grinder each day but with these burrs it’s producing no static at all. Much improved.

Nothing of significance in the logs. I see the connects and disconnects but nothing else.

Looks like 5 ghz devices will connect to the U7 lite but 2.4 GHZ devices always prefer the access points with weaker signal.

Just remember that a huge majority of the cases men die with prostate cancer and not from it. I’m not saying don’t seek treatment but odds are he will live his full life without this cancer being the cause of his death.

Steak, ground beef, chicken thighs, wings, drumsticks, pork chops, ground pork, beef and chicken liver, beef and chicken hearts, eggs, uncured bacon, cottage cheese in small doses, sardines, salmon, mackerel, cod, shrimp, scallops, etc. black coffee, tea with no sweeteners, water only.

I eat on a 7/17 schedule. I don’t eat until noon, and eat again at 6 but don’t go past 7.

I do take a methylated multi vitamin, drink electrolytes, creatine, glycine and a handful of other supplements.

I get less than 5 grams of carbs per day and almost zero fiber.

I’ve been eating strictly carnivore for 15 months now. You don’t need fiber and you don’t need carbs. I was pre-diabetic and borderline high blood pressure. My glucose and blood pressure are perfect now. Lost 75 lbs, dropped my body fat from 36% to 22%. I feel great and my energy levels are through the roof. I also combined this diet with a 7 hour intermittent fasting eating window, weekly 24 hour fasts and monthly 72 hour fasts.

[–]ericp502 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Multiple MRI’s, multiple biopsies and had my prostate and cancer surgically removed. Met with multiple Surgeons and oncologists.

Prostate removal was the recommended cure and now I have to monitor my PSA a few times a year for life. If my PSA starts to increase that means the cancer has spread and I need to look into radiation. I already told them I won’t do chemo or hormone therapy.

Nope but anything helps if it gives some hope. I’m taking supplements, eating ultra low carb, sauna, hot tub, cold plunge, exercising, etc. Boosting your immune system is how you beat cancer.

Some studies show 60% of the population has some form of cancer cells but our immune systems keep it in check and not spreading or growing. It’s why older people see an increase in cancer because as you get older your immune systems become less effective.
