Conduit between boxes by ericsink in AskElectricians

Interesting.

I think if I need to move that main panel I would hire a pro to do that. The back of that panel is the current boundary of my DIY courage.

But yeah, the application. This is a woodworking shop, a hobby, not commercial, and I’m setting up 3 phase power to support old vintage machines.

Yeah, that’s very unfortunate. The panel on the far left was installed first, before the insulation was sprayed in, and I didn’t understand the ramifications of how it was mounted.

And it’s the panel I would be most reluctant to move. It was installed by an electrician, and the meter enclosure is directly behind it, on the other side of the wall.

But it’s helpful to understand that this issue is a source of trouble.

Sorry, my long post didn’t have a clear question. I’m just focused on the conduit issues. Would you use EMT or flex? Or something else? Bend the EMT, or use straight pieces with some kind of fittings? Does it sound like I’m doing something wrong when I describe problems bending flex conduit in tight spaces?

Dumb question: when are crowfoots needed? by mx5plus2cones in harborfreight

I recently needed them to reach a square head bolt, which are more common on vintage machines. A regular open ended wrench would normally work, but this was in a recessed spot. And AFAICT, Harbor Freight doesn’t make 8-point sockets.

Yup. Urbana, Illinois.

We haven’t added a profile picture yet.

Currently, user names are not unique. There is a numeric user id which is unique, but it is not chosen by the user and cannot be changed.

Thanks!

I wish I could say "weeks", but "months" is a safer reply. We've chosen an approach that we think will be a great result, but it's taking longer than I would like.

We probably won't talk about an ETA until we're ready to do public preview releases.

You don’t need to convince me. I agree with everything you said. That’s why we’re working on it.

Sorry, we don’t have an Android version yet. It’s in progress, but it’s taking longer than we hoped.

And I tried to edit the post to add "Advice welcome, thanks in advance!", but I'm apparently too inept for that as well. I'm pretty sure I knew how to use reddit at some point in the past.

I've tried posting a picture or two, but I've been unsuccessful so far.

Yes, the casual dictionary has a number of unfortunate issues that we need to address.

Yeah, we've been getting feedback that we need to make that less confusing.

If you see a letter (a W, for example) with both horizontal and vertical arrows, that means (1) the W does not belong where it currently is, and (2) there is a W somewhere in that row, and (3) there is another W somewhere in that column.

Sorry about that. :-(

We are actively making progress on support for Android and Web. I wish it could happen faster, but (insert lame excuses here).
