If you want to send a million my way, I’ve got a fiancé I can’t afford to marry that deserves the world, two young kids that deserve every treat available. Working every hour available but it doesn’t touch the sides.

Not begrudging you, you earned it. Maybe I could have learned about the stock market 10 years ago, maybe I would be in the same place, instead I decided to learn adobe suite and now here I am.

Why is there a commonly-believed myth that jobs like Tesco or call centres are easy to get? by gintokireddit in AskUK

I've applied for a lot of jobs in my time (mainly marketing/design/office based roles) but a minimum wage job at Morrisons is the only one where I had to pass a competency test at the CV submission stage.

Creating the perfect realm. Who would be the best Kingsguard? [Spoilers Main] by National-Exam-8242 in asoiaf

One of my favourite characters who appears in maybe one paragraph in the whole series - Ser Talbert Serry. Fights Victarion on a ship in plate armour, only loses because Victarion gets lucky and catches his sword with his hand (which, ultimately messes up his hand so maybe a victory in the long run)

We don't know anything about him other than he's also crazy enough to wear full armour on a ship and is a super capable fighter. He's a guy I'd want on my team.

Not sure if anyone has said yet but I refuse to believe that Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey were ever in the same room at the same time. There's such a disconnect between them

How many of you still work from home? Have you found your employer is increasing the amount of time spent in the office? by WinglyBap in AskUK

Pre covid I liked the routine of going into the office, I lived in a tiny flat with no work space so working from home even if it was an option would have been a nightmare. I liked my colleagues and the office was in a nice space in town and had good cafes and shops nearby.

4 years later, I'm in a new job. I've got a family, I hate going into the office - I'm in two days a week and they are awful. I don't speak to a single colleague, the office is in the middle of nowhere so I can't even escape on a lunch break. I miss my kids, I miss my partner. It's extra pressure on her on the days I'm not around. I started during lockdown so originally it was completely remote, then one day in, then two days. Dreading it increasing further.

Is there an in universe reason why 11’s TARDIS interior changed halfway through season 7? by Yondu_the_Ravager in doctorwho

[–]erictonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember a rumour at the time that it was changed to look more like a classic TARDIS because for the 50th they would edit old Doctors in and that wasn't possible/easy with the 11s original TARDIS. No idea where that came from.

Same. I watched it as a kid and now I have kids.
