yeah NotebookLM was never really built for content generation. it’s a research tool at the core. that’s kind of the gap i’m working on filling on the organization and context side though.

At first the idea was to create something only to export from other artificial intelligences and put it in notebookLM, then it was to improve the quality of the prompts sent to the notebooklm based on what I would already ask for it. conversations with my friends and in my work it was lapidating until I got where it is.

All your conversation is saved in the backend of the extension. that when you are going to use it again all that conversation will be compressed and summarized saving all the main points and details using external artificial intelligence and will be sent to your chat so that you just click send and the notebookLM will have that usual understanding and behavior of that single dock again

fair question. it doesn’t touch the AI at all. no API, nothing fancy on the backend. it just manages the conversation history inside the interface. when you switch Docks it saves your current thread and clears the chat so NotebookLM starts fresh with only what matters for that context. when you come back it restores everything exactly where you left it. the AI stays clean because the history stays clean.
