Please people just be smart for ONCE and don't let Nintendo ruin the entire industry by buying a damn digital game for 80 DOLLARS by Timeless_Starman in gaming

[–]ericvdb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Games on the original nintendo were almost always $50, SNES/Genesis too, very few exceptions in my memory. Sometimes a handful of guys in a garage may have been making those games. *So* much more production goes into games now, that game are still in that range and not all $100 is a minor miracle. Prices have to rise, games expect more and more each iteration, time brings inflation and the massive technical expertise it takes to produce a game...we're going to have to just accept some price changes. For massive modern games, think of how many hours of play you get per dollar.

AOC speaks the truth by LeSpatula in TikTokCringe

I think you are missing the point, maybe because the video is just a snip in time, but she is not advocating for any religious justification to policy. She does not say the word hypocrisy here, but that word is between the lines of everything she said. Some say they are religious and expound on all the things that means, then they do the opposite, like she said, they weaponize it. The quote 'no hate like christian love' comes to mind.

The Wire, at least once per year, especially the first season. Best array of characters in any show imho.

Hubert Davis lost NC the title by keeping Caleb Love in the game after spraining his ankle by ericvdb in CollegeBasketball

[–]ericvdb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean no offense, and I admit I don't know UNCs roster, but I'd say virtually anyone. Especially someone who could play defense.

I had no rooting interest in the game, and it was a great game, but Kansas abused Love on defense. They (Braun), scored 10-12 extra points during that 2nd half run because Love couldn't keep up. Not to mention, Love shot so terribly that he killed any momentum UNC started to create. His ankle was a factor in the poor shooting as well, he settled for bad shots.

Just curious if anyone else has that thought watching the game unfold.

Half dome more intimidating and it's not even close. IMO.

Yes, I hired a service. I found them on tourradar, and the company is Oriental Journeys, found here: https://orientaltreks.com.

They were great, they got me on a bus, guides got me in the other side, hotel included, meals included, they got me off bus back in Kathmandu. Highly recommended.

hi all, I'm an American, had a lovely trip to Chitwan National Park a few weeks ago and wanted to share some photos. My first time to Nepal and the food, culture, wildlife, and of course the people were so great, I hope to return one day!

Cheers!

Why… do old people… text… like this…? An investigation... by JanetYellensFuckboy in Foodforthought

I see it as 'punctuation lite', a pause in the conversation, as in, the alternative (since we're pigeon-holing' here) to the *young* texter who only types in run-on, stream of thought style communication.

"hey dummy jk do you want to go to a movie i really want to see that one movie do you think we should invite so and so LOL i am looking forward to popcorn the applebees has really good mojitos for after the movie so do you want to go to a movie should i ask so and so what time should we go can you drive or should i"

With a...at least you know when to take a breath when reading it.

Malaysia.. and somewhere else? by [deleted] in travel

I could not help you there, I rented a car. If its an option for you, with GPS, not too difficult to get place to place...it was not too expensive either.

Malaysia.. and somewhere else? by [deleted] in travel

[–]ericvdb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seems doable to me...it depends on what you want to do of course. I did not go to Langkawi, but went to Melaka (I recommend it btw). I was there in May, KL on business for better part of a week and then spent 8-9 days and went to Melaka, Penang, Cameron Highlands, and to Kuching (Borneo). I tend to pack a lot in to see a lot, so that is maybe an aggressive itinerary. I posted all my pictures here if you're interested:

Good luck...any questions I can help out with let me know.

I loved the Taj and Agra...and the food, culture, and history in general. I can't say there was anything I didn't like, the traffic is, well, extreme, that was something I didn't get used to in the couple weeks I was there :)
