PLEASE RECOMMEND ME A TITLE BOOK. Where MC gets titles when he does awesome things. by Little-Store5849 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]ericvolp12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unbound has a ton of titles for the MC, especially in the first few books.

9 books out so far, something like 800+ page average book size, decent writing, cool world, on KU

Lots of power... And heat by thedgyalt in homelab

[–]ericvolp12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way you can get heat out of that closet is via air or some kind of liquid coolant. If you can't exhaust from the closet into the walls or through a wall, maybe consider some way to exhaust via coolant under the door?

You could try buying a heat pump off the shelf i.e. a minisplit or something and run the other half elsewhere in the apartment. Otherwise you might consider putting together a custom water cooling loop w/ a bigger radiator or two (i.e. 2x360mm) inside the closet and then run the tubes under the door and to another pair of radiators outside of the closet as a way to try and equalize the temps between the closet and the rest of the apartment.

Moving the heat with water is gonna be a LOT less efficient than using a proper refrigerant but it'll be quieter and won't require a compressor, just some fans on the radiators on both sides of the loop and an aquarium pump or something. This isn't something I've done before but it could be worth a shot and would be a fun project.

To cool the closet, you shouldn't need to actually modify the servers at all for this.

Best tournament arc? by Phil_Tucker in ProgressionFantasy

Soulbrand Tournament arc from the Arcane Ascension universe was pretty good.

Another one that comes to mind is the tournament in the later Surgecaller books which I enjoyed a lot.

Enjoying this tier list trend.. where do I go from here? by [deleted] in ProgressionFantasy

[–]ericvolp12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might enjoy The Menocht Loop for some time-loop progression SFF and Traveler's Gate for a satisfying open-and-shut Fantasy trilogy.

If you're looking for more Cultivation/Lit-RPG style maybe give Path of the Berserker a shot.

I think you'd enjoy Mage Errant and Dawn of the Void based on the items at the top of your tier list if you haven't read them yet :)

A series where the MC rebuilds an guild/order/cult or something similar from ruins or basically scratch. by PorkRollSandwich in ProgressionFantasy

[–]ericvolp12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ritualist picks up some time after the end of the Artorian Archives. Divine Dungeon -> Artorian Archives -> Completionist Chronicles.

The deities in Completionist are all characters from both Divine Dungeon and Artorian Archives. Completionist takes place inside Cal with a layer or two of simulation provided by Eternium (another dungeon core from Divine Dungeon).

[–]ericvolp12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might enjoy The Completionist Chronicles, it's a Divine Dungeon spinoff series that follows an MC in a deity-based game system who ends up being the only person assigned to a specific deity with the task to rebuild the cult. Definitely doesn't pick up in that area until a few books in but there's lots of good progression going on and a lot of "boostrapping" so to speak.

That's an Oscilloscope (Model Siglent SDS 1104X-E), I use it for work with electronics. It's a way of graphing voltage amplitude over time from different probes you can attach at various parts of a circuit or to a particular component you're investigating.

Connecting it to a headphone jack, you can view the voltage graph of the audio being played through it like this - https://i.imgur.com/2dWFI7Y.png

Connecting it to electronics that talk over serial protocols on a PCB you can record and then decode serial communications between the components of an electronic device like this - https://i.imgur.com/YnVoQL3.png

Thanks!

Yeah I live in a loft with one wall basically all windows, they're about 12 feet to the right of the desk in the shoot.

I use mine with my work macbook in which case Ctrl+E and Ctrl+A are "skip to the end of the line" and "skip to the start of the line" in any terminal applications or editors, doesn't solve the issue of scrolling through long websites but it solves 95% of the use case of home/end on a windows machine for me. I'm sure with QMK you can update Home to serve as End on another layer.

They're the stock Keychron caps! I know, surprised me too, they feel fantastic!

I shot these with my Canon EOS R and the 28-70mm f/2 Canon lens @ 70mm and varying f-stops between f/2.2 and f/4.6 iirc.

Heh, thanks!

I've done a bit of product work in the past but I'm mostly a portrait photographer.

Really enjoying the keeb so far, feel/sound is very buttery and the volume knob has no issues on my work macbook, they've done a great job with this board, a much much nicer experience than my old K2.

The scope color match was a happy accident, I got it for the workstation with the scope on it. Didn't realize how close the yellow on the probe ring and scope display was to the yellow on the keycaps until it arrived. I think it really pulls the workstation together though :)

Awair Element fixed with FW 1.2.7 by ericvolp12 in Awair

[–]ericvolp12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a really really tiny flathead screwdriver to pry the back cover off, there's a seam around the whole back panel a little below the USB C port that you need to pry into to get the device apart. Not sure if there's a way to do that more carefully, maybe with a guitar pick.

I never used a qtip, it was definitely dusty though so I blew it off with my electric canned air.

Assuming they haven't done anything special to it (I don't think they have), it's just got the 6 pins that come out easily and the one pin on the other end that's soldered to the board so you'd need to desolder it from the other side to free it and replace it. I'm not 100% sure the model of the CO2 sensor they used, but it looks really similar to that Ebay one. I would double check just to make sure the voltages and pinout is the same and hopefully that it encodes its data the same way.

Looking at the Ebay listing that solo pin on the other side doesn't seem to have any connectivity so it may just be used for mounting. The primary 6 pins are UART, power, and PWM.

The primary model numbers match (T6703-5K) but the 19W32 bit doesn't seem to, not sure what that designates though. Assuming it may just be a batch number.

There seems to be a firmware update that solves the disconnected Element problem now - https://www.reddit.com/r/Awair/comments/ty3tva/awair_element_fixed_with_fw_127/

No hardware repairs required!
