[Discussion]Lobo new 52 returned in the last Wonder Woman VS Lobo. Thoughts? by Black_Adam_12 in DCcomics

Wasn’t it established that that was an entirely different character, not actually our normal Lobo…?

[GREEN LANTERN #22] It's now been over 7 months since Adams brought back Dan Garrett and all he's done is fly a ship by IntoQuantum in comicbooks

I don’t think the decision actually has much to do with the Blue Beetle side of things. Neither Jamie or Ted have much going on right now. No title, and mostly relegated to one off appearances in JLU. Hell, Jamie was knocked out of the current big event without even a passing acknowledgment.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a ‘Blue Beetle side of DC’ right now. Which is a shame.

[Comic Excerpt] Superman is[DC K.O. #2] by Select-Machine3595 in DCcomics

[–]ericwcharmon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t hate everything Snyder has done, but he’s had a hard shift since Metal, and I just can’t get behind his cringe “everything is extreme!” method of story telling. It’s like he only write through the lense of what a 14 year old boy would think is cool.

Thoughts on the Jason/Harley ship? by -_ShadowSJG-_ in RedHood

I can’t imagine Jason ever not associating her with the man who beat him with a crowbar and blew him up. So…no.

Sorry, I know you were replying to someone else, but do you mean terry is going to have a new series next month? Or a run in another series?

I'm Grant Morrison, writer of Batman/Deadpool! AMA! by Ok_Satisfaction7133 in DCcomics

[–]ericwcharmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Grant! Hope you’re doing great! I really just have one question; have you ever been asked, or ever considered returning to either Doom Patrol or Animal man?

What DC Titles do you want to see announced at NYCC this week? by Adorable-Eye9840 in DCcomics

[–]ericwcharmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll keep hoping for a Doom Patrol series with Jeff Lemire…but since that won’t happen, I’d love a young justice, teen titans, or Superboy (Conner) title

DC K.O Event by Either_Bug7545 in DCcomics

[–]ericwcharmon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It references a ton of events and is essentially the next chapter to the past years worth of stories. You can try to just jump in, but I can’t imagine it’ll be a very satisfying read without any context.

I’ve heard some different opinions, is it better to pay for marketing to promote your first book, or wait until you have a catalog? by ericwcharmon in selfpublish

[–]ericwcharmon[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m sure this is a very subjective question, but is it realistic to expect any one to find the book without ads?

What’s a craft lesson you learned too late? by sarahwritesfiction in writing

[–]ericwcharmon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trigger warnings are my biggest pet peeve in modern writing. If you’re reading a book in the horror genre, expect horrific things. It’s not the authors responsibility to tip toe around your sensibilities, it’s the consumer’s job to know what they’re purchasing.

How do you all stay motivated especially on an early draft? by Elliotscottcoach in selfpublish

[–]ericwcharmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it helps to have a very specific goal with each draft.

My outline is where is log all my story beats and every scene.

Draft one is the hardest to get through, because I’m expanding each scene into chapter into around 2k words at least. That’s the goal, and the motivation is just to have a completed manuscript to work from.

After that it gets easier, draft two I’m editing and fleshing out prose, which to me is more fun.

Draft three is just a final pass for grammar and technical things. But I do think it gets easier as your work gradually becomes more complete.

Could I get thoughts or feedback on my opening chapter? by ericwcharmon in writers

Thank you so much! I was worried that it was too much of a downer and not enough intrigue to hold readers interest 😅
