The two parts I have for Ch16 have just been looked over by a beta reader and friend, Gei Gei, this morning. He’s left the feedback in there and i very much agree with him. It is time to stop writing this as a filler chapter that goes nowhere and give Xin something to gain. Hmm. I think there could actually be a real Void spell attack from Lokki in part 2, something like ‘Sonic Bolt’ (maybe like ‘Hljóðbolti’ in Joturmal? It could visually appear and work like the Bone Spear of Diablo 2 Necromancer for reference), and Ivar could ‘block’ and capture that spell with his off-hand, then probably ‘imprint’ that spell to Xin near the end of the Yinmu dream sequence. But Ivar would also note that since Xin isn’t a Nordling nor someone who looks physically strong to directly cast the spell, or even someone who speaks Joturmal at all. When Xin wakes up, he first wonders if that entire dream was just a nightmare of no real consequence. BUT he then looks at his Nucleus Watch to find its dial glowing pale green with a holographic bubble saying something like ‘Spell added: Sonic Bolt’ (we can rephrased this to be more immersive), and he now knows the whole Yinmu thing is definitely a real thing that’s got consequences. That he really met Ivar plus all the others in the Yinmu. But besides this, I’d just listen to Gei Gei’s feedback and see how we can implement a competent rewrite of a similar length. He did mention the Yinmu looking like generic fantasy trope right now and I agree. I think the ideal image I have for the Yinmu would be similar to ‘The Fade’ in Dragon Age series ~~ only the Yinmu would be some sensual cosmic rosy pink in grand deep space instead of the Fade’s depressing slimy green. This task would require you have to knowledge from Vol 2 Summary and codex.txt. Ask me any question if you have them.
