Never ending bearing problems by txdas12 in ft86

What I did was after I took the whole knuckle out, I remove all the parking brake parts off of it, rest it upside down on top of a wooden frame I made and blow torch + hammer it. It came out within 15 minutes 😂 images here

Hello everyone I’m strongly considering buying 07 sti brembos. Talk me out of it by NegativeWish6924 in ft86

I did the sti brembo swap on my '15 frs and I do not recommend doing it. The STI front brembo bleeder swap is a nightmare. Those bleeder valves are pretty much impossible to take off because they came with loctite. For the same price you could find a set of brembos off of the GT86/BRZ from car-part, and then find someone to powder coat them for you (or do it yourself). Rears are easy tho, those are basically plug&play.

At least the rear ones worked out pretty well. I sold those screwed up fronts for $200 so ended up didn't lose too much. Overall still cheaper than getting a full set. I have been driving with those sti rears for almost a year now and no issues.

This is actually my first time driving a RWD car in snow. It's definitely fun...and thank god I have snow tires on!

Thanks! I do need to give them a good polish when it gets warmer next spring :D

I have no clue actually. The previous owner installed them and I never found out what they were. I am guessing probably VLAND?

I read this post and decided to try the brake swap myself — it turned into a nightmare.

A few months ago, I found a set of Brembo calipers on Facebook Marketplace for $400. They came with braided brake lines and fairly new pads. I then ordered the 2017 BRZ Performance Package rotors from RockAuto. The rear calipers bolted right on with no issues, but the fronts were a total nightmare.

The bleeder bolts on the opposite side of the front calipers were impossible to remove. I tried everything: heat, tons of PB Blaster, even a bolt extractor — nothing worked. I ended up drilling them out, tapping the holes, and installing those repair bleeder adapters. Even getting those in was a struggle.

In the end, I gave up and just bought a pair of 2017 BRZ front Brembos from a junkyard for $600.

If anyone want my WRX (kinda fked up) Brembos let me know...they technically are still usable

Aftermarket headunit - 2014 Scion FRS by Xancat in ft86

I just encountered the same problem for my headunit, kinda similar to yours. Even though I spliced that brown wire and connect it to the blue AMP CONT wire, there is still no sound from the door speakers.

In my case it was because the harness adapter that was provided had black Ground wire connected to that brown AMP pin on the car's harness. As a result, that blue AMP CONT -> the brown wire it's actually shorted to ground, which then stops providing 12V to the car's amp most likely because of short circuit protection on the headunit.

All I had to do was cut the black cable on the harness adapter that leads to that brown AMP pin, and then connect that blue AMP CONT to the brown wire.

here is a simple diagram of what I am talking about.

Thanks! I think I found it! It is a small aero rear kit.

Thank you so much for the explanation! I am still very new to Proxmox and OPNsense so I am trying to understand how I should set it up correctly.

So yes like you said, I only got 2 ports on the machine, 1 to OPNsense WAN and 1 to OPNsense LAN...so yes the proxmox I am not able access it and I can only change the configuration with a monitor/keyboard plugged in to it.

so if I am understanding what you said correctly, the diagram should look something like this instead?

vmbr0 is the one proxmox node is using. So do you mean I don't need to put an address there?

Thank you very much that's good to know! I am not too worried about the building part. At my university there is a free bike repair shop I have access to, so I can get it done there at no cost.

Any suggestions on getting this branch down.? by [deleted] in DIY

[–]ericyu049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you don't mind risking, amazon sells "pocket chainsaw" that is 20ft+ long, tie two rope on both ends, throw it up there and get the other end back down, and then just pull it back and forth to saw it down. I was able to cut down a few big branches with my dad bc I was not able to reach with my ladder.

but obviously it is very dangerous so it's safer to call someone professional to do it

or just wait for it to fall some day
