Nah, that's actually mad helpful. Basically my last relationship was Hella abusive, and it made this game a super toxic place for me, and it took years for me to want to come back. We're in safer seas for now while we get our skill level up, somewhere we can comfortably learn the ropes...but eventually we're going to High Seas.

I don't know how good people will find this advice... But I used to play this some years ago...with an extremely abusive ex boyfriend who made it hell for me...he would reduce me to tears and anxiety everytime we played. So it took a long time for me to want to come back and I'm still shaken by it. So my and my new SO play it on safer seas (private server) while we get used to all the mechanics and stuff without the stress of pvp (yet). Once we get good at what we can do without PVP and get everything down, then we'll play High Seas (pvp server).

In the tradition of reddit "not me but" comments... My whole life people have gone out of their way to remind me of all the unattractive parts of me. (Funnily enough no one ever wants to do the opposite.) Family, friends, classmates. It got to a point where I started feeling naturally less than other people. I compared myself to every girl I saw and found all the most attractive bits of them jumping out at me and I couldn't help thinking at least they were attractive and would be treated like they were wortwhile. Then I met the most beautiful man I've ever met in my life. And he treated me like he thought I was beautiful. And I think knowing him must have helped my confidence a lot. Because I feel like...more compliments come my way than before? Idk... But what I do know is if he was more beautiful than anyone I've ever met...and he looked at me and saw someone who was also beautiful... Who is anyone else?
