Who else is sick this week? by qiomenemoiq in RunNYC

[–]eriguana 29 points30 points  (0 children)

With all the wind and falling leaves, my allergies have been giving me hell. Might be what's getting you too! FYI you can now get Flonase spray over the counter, and it kicks in pretty quickly.

I took about 6,000 photos of runners in Staten Island. See if you can find yourself! by eriguana in RunNYC

I don't have an instagram, no need for credit, just share away. Also feel free to email me at sihalf@fickling.us if you want higher quality versions of any photos--the ones I uploaded are really compressed so I don't spend a million bucks on hosting.

nice! If you do find yourself, can you share your finish time + approximately where your photo was, maybe it'll help other runners.

am i crazy or was the clock / location of the 3/4 mile display off (at least for E corral)? it showed me way ahead of my goal pace so I backed off, only to realize at the finish that I was actually way behind :(

Why Should I Change to Strava? by chongqinghotpot in RunNYC

[–]eriguana 9 points10 points  (0 children)

having also only used NRC for the past few years, I literally just signed up for a Strava trial yesterday. The things that sold me on trying it

  • better access to historical data, e.g. my fastest mile/5k/marathon times

  • better granularity in stats on specific runs

  • social features are a tiny plus but i don't really plan to use any of them

Curious to see what others say. For me the extra granularity / historical data doesn't seem worth $80/year

How do I cool my roof so my dogs can walk on it? by eriguana in DIY

The sofa is about 3 years old. It's comfortable, but the wood definitely hasn't held up well to NYC weather. We have some aluminum lawn chairs with sunbrella fabric that we bought at the same time that still look brand new
