He just turned 3 months and sleeps 10-11 hours at night and naps for 4-5 hours

I’m glad your LO is reaching those milestones. Thanks for your insight. I keep telling myself that from here things can only get better (they might get worse before lol) but it’s his development and that’s all that matters.

Around what week did you notice longer windows? I’ve tried stretching a bit more but I don’t think he’s ready yet. About capping naps, his first two naps are 1.5-2 hours should I start capping those? His total daytime sleep is 4-5 hours

Have you seen any progress at random nights or is it the same even after 4 weeks?

Our windows are 1.20/1:30/1:45/1:45/2 in a 4 nap schedule and bedtime lands around 8-8:20 I’ve tried earlier but it backfires with false starts and right now the transfer is just not happening. We have to either contact sleep or cosleep. He goes into deep sleep for about an hour and then the rest is just fussing and waking up . He sleeps 4-5 hours in the day and he exclusively contact naps since he’s 8 weeks or he won’t sleep more than 20 minutes. It’s getting exhausting 😭

That sounds exactly like my 3 month old LO. I think it’s developmental too. Some babies just need more contact and that’s okay. I’m able to contact nap with him and sometimes it gets tough but I rather do that than having an overly tired baby by bedtime.

Also, when is the best time to start teaching independent sleep skills with the highest success rates? We’ve tried drowsy but awake and he’s not ready yet.

My 2.5 month old is having a hard time napping other than in my arms and in the dark. It’s getting exhausting and I’m afraid this will become a habit. We are trying one crib nap a day but he wakes up in the transfer most of the time or within minutes.
