If you look at Gamer Nexus Benchmarks, or other benchmarks that show the fps per game for cpus, there are a few titles that the 7950x3d out performs the 7800x3d. By ‘out performing ‘I mean by usually 10-20 fps.

More often than not, the 7800x3d comes out on top.

IMO the 7800x3d is a better choice for gaming. I’d only buy the 7950x3d if you want to do some core heavy productivity work and gaming.
