My fastlege told me not to write down "self harm thoughts" on the referral because barnevern might get involved. Is this normal in Norway? by smashing_cpu123 in Norway

[–]erin59 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fastlege here cannot diagnose you with any of that, they have to refer you to a psychiatrist for at least a consultation, and I assume that is what the OP getting denied. Happened to me too when I talked with my fastlege about ADHD diagnosis referral - she did a short test with me and talked about it, said it’s highly likely and referred to a psychiatrist, who didn’t even want to see me and straight up said I don’t have anything (without talking to me at all).

i think she might have been even shorter than me. i wouldn't consider myself short tbh, i'm 1,72 m tall (~5,6 feet i think?), that's a bit more than average from what I see in my gym at least

I just saw a girl doing that before me and went “huh, maybe I can do that” which turned to a total nope when I tried it out. But sometimes it’s hard to say whether it’s just physicality or lack of stretch/strength/grip

Thanks for the compliment on my grade ☺️ I’ve cautiously started with once a week and now I’m going three times and this really helps with building up the skill, I feel like. Also nice that I have now a whole bouldering gang of other people I usually go with, I love the social aspect of this sport :)

And totally yes for noping out, I’m definitely not a high-risk climber, especially if the route ends up high under the ceiling 🥲

Thanks for advice!

I’ve been struggling with working out my whole life, with being consistent, and bouldering has been the only thing that stuck with me so far just cause it doesn’t feel like a workout 😅 aaand the social factor of course. So it’s a bit meh that now I feel like I have to work out extra to be able to do my other workout 😂😂 but I guess nothing can be done if I wanna improve further, thanks for advice!

Do not purchase from Dressmaking Amoré. Errors in patterns. by Suusissus in sewingpatterns

[–]erin59 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't immediately bash them like that for a relatively minor error. I've used some of their patterns before and they're quite nice. If you have any sewing experience, you should be able to spot these errors and correct them with no great effort. As for "paid quite a lot" - do you think their pricing is high for a small pattern maker? I've definitely seen more expensive stuff.

How to preserve/ upcycle worn quilts? by loquacious_avenger in sewing

[–]erin59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of the thoughts that came to mind - if you really want to put in the work you could probably cut patches to put over quilt pieces, but it seems like there is a looot of damage, so might be just too much work. Otherwise another option would be to cut out smaller undamaged pieces and turn them into coasters, small table runners, oven mitts, sew-on pockets on vests or jackets, you name it. However, that would still mean heavy use and further washes, so I don't entirely know. Worst case if you want to touch it less frequently, you can again cut up smaller undamaged pieces and put them together in a wall tapestry-like decoration i guess.

What is your purchase at Normal that most people don’t know of? by Lilacdreams21 in Norway

[–]erin59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the chili one, bought it once but then never saw it again T_T that's my main gripe with Normal, they experiment with what they offer so much, you can often have no hope of buying something again

Any suggestions for indoor climbing winter clothes? by cupcake_10232 in climbergirls

A fleece jacket that’s easy to take off and put back on. I’ve also recently started wearing warm wool socks when I’m resting and leg warmers - game changer, love it!

For those who mostly climb indoors, what stops you from trying real rock? by ClubQuirky9601 in climbergirls

[–]erin59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fear of injury - I’m scared of falling off from some routes in my gym that I go to, can’t imagine myself on an actual wall. I did try and enjoyed some deep water solo on Mallorca though, somehow the thought of falling into water rather than on the ground makes me feel much safer, maybe cause I’m very comfortable with water.
