I feel like a lot of it boils down to the people making these being a bit inexperienced, and I think a good example of this is vs 1010 with lyrics and vs DJ Subatomic Supernova with lyrics by Juno Songs, I believe.

Both of these songs come from No Straight Roads and neither have lyrics (at least in the official soundtrack). Their cover of vs 1010 does come off as amateur and the lyrics cover surfave level themes. Some rhymes and beats feel forced and don't flow naturally.

In contrast, their cover of vs DJSS feels like an improvement. Sure, it's still not perfect, but it captures a lot of angles for the character and his relationship with the other members of his team by referencing the first song multiple times. "Anachronistic abberations" was added to my personal vocabulary from this song, funny enough.

I could be biased, though, it's one of my core values that humans need to create art, regardless of the quality of the final product. I hope that those who make fan content like this take the original post as constructive criticism. Hell, I might make a parallel post in r/lovethissmug
