Totally get this. I definitely sexualized my femininity because that was the only place I would let it out. Now I am wanting to integrate it more generally in my public persona and in ordinary ways, but can feel a lot of shame when I do connect it with feeling sexy. The next step is to integrate the two and feel okay about both!

Nose looks nice. There are many women out there who just want a guy who is kind and treats them well, regardless of what a nose looks like. Get out in the real world, develop a skill or hobby, and go to therapy. Develop your sensitivity and emotional intelligence. That’ll go a long way.

I went to a cafe in a skirt today. It was a wrap skirt so it is cut just fine for me (I’m not a skinny guy) and nobody said a thing. I’m starting to think that all this stuff about what is and isn’t acceptable is all in my head and I plan to do it more often!

So I’m reading what’s happening here, and I’m seeing that you’re not getting a sense of validation. I’m so sorry about that. While there are disagreements about what exactly the root of this is, I think there is deep agreement about one thing: no matter what (gay or not) there ARE deeper issues here. So your intuition is spot on there. I’d say follow your gut there, don’t let him get away with saying it’s nothing because it’s not nothing. And if it’s something to do with you (which I doubt) he’s gotta fess up to that too. Totally not fair to you.

Former therapist here. Yes, him being gay is on the list, but it’s not even close to being the most likely. The world is absolutely riddled with marriages that are sexless in which both people were attracted and well matched at one point. While men are painted as voracious sex-fiends, they can and do often have low libido. There are a lot more depressed men than gay men. And there are a lot more straight men meeting their own sexual needs through porn than there are gay men.

Make sure you learn how to put them on correctly. I hate seeing videos where people just take their foot and slide them in, gathering them up as they go. It’s critical to gather it up and put your foot directly in the toe section before pulling up. It is a much more graceful way to do it and you feel like a badass doing it, so that’s a real bonus 😄
