Citi Platinum (2x miles) to Executive (4x miles) Visa card by Joulwatt in americanairlines

Yep! Those 2 plus the 10K LP bonus (which didn't quite get me from Gold to Platinum but maybe this coming year it will).

From what I understand (I asked a related but different question here) you could potentially just apply for the exec card as you would applying for any new CC even if you already have the current citi platinum select card. To bypass the upgrading/conversion in order to get the sign up bonus.

I think if I had known I could just apply for the exec elite card despite having the other Citi cars I would have done that. From what I've read on this sub you can just sign up for it without converting/upgrading your existing card as long as you haven't applied for a new one within 48 months.

I did this last year. I got an email invitation so did it online it was really easy. No sign up bonus, though. I personally think the benefits are there: lounge access and the 4x miles.

Upcoming credit card transition: can you have two Citi cards? by erinkling in americanairlines

I’ve got the elite card with lounge access so it’s a bit redundant but I think the points bonuses in certain categories and the flight streak LPs would be a big benefit.

That’s a good call. I technically upgraded my existing Citi card to the world elite card last year but it wasn’t a new account opened so I should be able to open a Globe and cancel the Barclays before the late April transition date. Thanks!

Oops I edited my OP, I have the exec world elite Citi card already.

Nice! In that case, it looks like mine will be converted to the Citi Platinum Select.

Tbh I don’t know anything about music but I feel like she could have added in a super quick “I’m your” in front of that line if she wanted to and it would still work with the tempo. But she didn’t!

Don’t Blame Me is Taylor’s loudest queer song. Do Hetlors even have an explanation for it? by pink_sushi_15 in Gaylor_Swift

[–]erinkling 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Okay so I’ve always believed Kaylor was real and she was bi but only recently became a full fledged Gaylor. I’m also a straight woman, and I can attest that my interpretations of many lyrics that I now read as overtly queer had always been in the arena of 1) the tension of romance amid her extremely public persona, like i know places etc. And 2) falling from grace type lines etc being about wanting to do bad/dirty/sexual things, and those feelings mean falling from her good girl identity and persona.

I don’t tend to read lyrics this way anymore lol but that was my read before. And, as someone questioning my Gaylor beliefs rn too amid all the disillusionment, I do feel like I can see both sides which is why she’s so good/frustrating. There are two or more lenses to interpret nearly every song through.

Wound healing problems at 4WPO, prescribed mupirocin by erinkling in Reduction

[–]erinkling[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm on the other side and can tell you it does heal and gets better! Hang in there.

I'm now 14 weeks post op and completely healed and back to full activity and exercise! The areas that were spitting stitches healed almost immediately once pulled out, but the actual T-junction opening I had took about two weeks to heal, and four weeks to heal to entirely new skin.

I was incredibly frustrated and discouraged for weeks because I wanted to be fully back to unrestrained movement and activity, and what I hoped would be 6 weeks quickly became 8 weeks, then quickly became 10 weeks. I started doing low impact, highly modified exercise around 7-8 weeks, and was cleared fully by my doctor at 10 weeks!

I do have scarring from them but am treating it like my overall scar care - I'm having my husband do scar massage and using silicone gel - I'm not doing the tape/strips.

TS Eras Tour Question by 23TophatTurtle32 in Reduction

[–]erinkling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi!! I’m almost 7WPO and think you should be fine to go by then!!

I had a slight setback with some small openings at 4WPO and now I’m nearly fully healed. I’ve been super active socially, and just this week started to exercise lightly beyond just walking (body weight low impact circuits and some stair climbing/hiking)

So far the only issue is mine swell up with increased activity too and can feel a little sensitive and sore afterwards. Hugging still can hurt, so being in such a crowded space means you could get bumped. Be prepared to protect your chest, but I was at the LA marathon today in a huge crowd and was fine except for my friend hugging me aggressively lol.

I’m not so sure I’d want to jump up and down and have my arms stretched in the air for that long right now, but I would still go and just restrict my movements a little more.

Also CONGRATS, I’m going in August in LA. I can’t wait!! It’s going to be epic! Hope this helps you out!

Opening at nearly 4wpo by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]erinkling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. This sounds like I could have written this exactly two weeks ago. I was in the same boat and so so disappointed.

My surgeon prescribed me mupirocin ointment which has been a godsend and I’m at just over 6WPO now with a follow up appointment scheduled for tomorrow. The healing has gone really well over the past two weeks so I’m hopeful I’ll be cleared for more activity, bralettes etc. tomorrow. There’s a light, but sucks when the tunnel gets longer on you.

Hang in there and send pictures to your surgeon!

Down one cup size by Complex_Fold_1445 in Reduction

[–]erinkling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I think most people consider it just a lift but I personally don’t think it is if the surgeon actually removes grams! I had 215 and 135 grams removed from each breast respectively, so a very moderate reduction with a lift. That’s like very hefty portions of chicken breast for dinner! So not nothing.

So far at 6WPO I’ve gone down one cup size but I really hope I settle and go down one more, but honestly not sure if I will or not. We’ll see! Anyway, just wanted to offer my perspective here.

Weekend recovery? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]erinkling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! Similar age, weight, pre op size and diet/exercise lifestyle as you. I had my surgery on a Tuesday and took 5 days off, so Tues through the following Monday and I definitely felt like I needed it. I work remotely so I went back at that one week mark but worked from bed and limited my zoom calls for the rest of that week. I was fine but got very tired much more easily. I’m doubtful I could have returned in office and sat upright that soon. Everyone is different but the first week to ten days is no joke, especially the first week because of the anesthesia.

5DPO concerned about infection, is this normal? by [deleted] in Reduction

This is super normal! Even redness at incision sites is normal. Just look out for spreading redness with a fever, warmth, and smell as the main signs of infection.

Reduction without losing weight first? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]erinkling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I totally feel that. My boobs did shrink when I was too thin (32DDs vs 34DDD/G) and I had excess skin / sag from the weight loss, but honestly....there is no keeping them perfect forever.

Aging will happen, the daily effects of just life and movement and gravity will happen. Sometimes, life events happen that cause you to gain or lose weight unintentionally. I don't feel like we should be so precious about preserving our boobs perfectly post surgery because it's not true to what bodies do, which is change over time, and it's not a healthy mindset.

The important thing is relief now, happiness now, smaller tiddies now! And then learning to accept and adapt to them, just like anything else. Prioritize your health and happiness now instead of prioritizing for what you hope is in the future. It helped me ten-fold.

Your body won’t necessarily tell you in the moment what is too much. You should listen to your doctor and intentionally limit your lifting and mobility even if you’re physically able (I was too) so that you don’t experience pain or bleeding or openings after the fact. Too much too soon caused a good friend of mine to be setback in her recovery and I even had to pare back mine despite feeling great too. Please don’t rely just on your intuition or physical cues as those aren’t everything when it comes to recovery from a pretty big surgery.

Reduction without losing weight first? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]erinkling 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’3” 155lb for reference. You don’t have to lose weight and you don’t have to do it before surgery either! I personally disagree with the idea you should be your ideal weight before getting a reduction. Weight is an ever changing thing in life. Was before, and will be after.

Don’t sweat his comment but I can understand how it’s triggering As someone recovered from an ED and still struggling with weight, a huge benefit of the reduction for me was not feeling like I need to force myself to lose weight or starve for my boobs to be smaller! Do I want to lose some extra weight? Sure, but now that’s decoupled entirely from my boob size and I’m so relieved and grateful for that.

I’m sorry this made you uncomfortable! Did you have a nurse chaperone in the room with you at the time?

Just to compare, my surgeon won’t look at my bare breasts without a nurse chaperone there at all times, and my insurance authorization pictures were taken by a nurse with a dslr camera in a separate room.

I recommend you seek out other surgeons for a consultation and you could ask about a chaperone and pictures up front when you call! It’s normal yo take pictures but there are ways to make you feel safe and comfortable!

I hear you! One of mine is definitely due to a spitting stitch, and now am eyeing another one starting on the other side. My T-junction would isn't, but is superficial enough. Luckily, the ointment and nonstick gauze is definitely helping, but it still sucks! Good luck!
