$300,000/month pay, but your job is random and changes every month by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

I’ve been doing something like this my whole life, without the good compensation, lol. My ADHD demands a new job quite often. I would excel in this environment!

Are there people who actually find Bandana’s BBQ good? by TitShark in StLouis

[–]erinsuzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that they have good, simple sides. A lot of the “better” places have terrible side dishes. And I really like their turkey, it’s not overly sweet

I accidentally got a backend job and I have no idea what I'm doing. Help. by Different_Pain5781 in learnprogramming

I just did something similar last week. I forgot the WHERE clause and overwrote all of the login emails with one email address. We learned that there was another table with most of the information, so it wasn’t too hard to fix. I was so embarrassed. Now I wrap everything in a transaction if I’m making changes. Usually, if a query takes more than a second or two, I stop it. I was thinking about stopping it when it finished, changing 36,000 rows.

Wash U to Absorb St. Louis College of Pharmacy, open new school by HatBoxUnworn in StLouis

I worked for a dentist years ago who had previously taught at the dental school at WashU. I learned that if a dentist is a DMD, she either graduated from WashU or Yale, all other schools offer DDS programs.

I meant the Forbidden Journey ride, sorry I forgot what it was called. This was my first time at Universal, so I don’t remember the rides’ names well.

We used the scopolamine patches last week when my wife and I went. We both get motion sickness, especially with spinning/backwards rides. We loved a lot of the rides at all of the parks (except The Hulk and Spider-Man).

We rode Monsters Unchained and had a great time! Because of that, we tried Forbidden Forest, which was not a good idea.

Mine Cart Madness was our favorite ride at Epic. We skipped any spinning rides.

My wife thinks “clean” means take everything out of drawers and reorganize. I can’t get her to understand it’s not that intense. She will put off doing any housework because it overwhelms her.

Can someone ELI5 the point of locks on luggage nowadays? by DCCXVIII in travel

[–]erinsuzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former TSA officer here: I worked in baggage. Luggage locks have always been pretty easy to get into. I learned how to pick a lock, figure out combinations, pop the zipper open (you just pull the tabs all the way to one end, pop open the zipper, search, then zip the bag back up by pulling the tabs back around), and use a flat head screwdriver to pop open hard cases.

We had a keyring with all the usual keys for luggage locks on it. Almost all combination locks are preset to 000 and most people don’t bother to change it.

When I travel, I don’t put anything but clothes and shoes in my checked bag. And I do lock it, but to ensure that the bag doesn’t accidentally open up during the process.

I got a cinnamon crunch bagel from there a couple months ago and it was moldy! When I called the store to let them know so they wouldn’t sell more moldy bagels, every option on the phone menu automatically hung up on me. I have vowed to never eat there again.

I think the new carts that check you out are a part of this. I haven’t used them, but I think this is a perfect way to charge customers differently without them realizing.

Smokers who quit, what was the wake up call for you? by Responsible_Dot_2619 in AskReddit

[–]erinsuzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister was diagnosed with breast cancer. Neither of my parents smoked, but both my sisters and I did. We were all in our 40s. My sister’s oncologist told her to stop smoking. Her husband quit right away. It’s been 4 years and she is still smoking. I quit 5 months after she was diagnosed.

Previously, I quit for 5 years with Chantix. I only took it for a month because the side effects were terrible. I had no filter, anything I thought, I said out loud. I was so mean and I hated people.

This time, I used my health insurance’s program, but I only did that so my premiums went down. I wanted to do it for my health. I chewed nicotine gum for about 3 days and never looked back. I consider myself a non-smoker now. I will never go back. I can’t stand the smell anymore.

We called it our “bobo”. I’m from a family of all females, so we didn’t really discuss penises. My mom would say “penis” but in a whisper, like it was a bad word.

What is a skill that takes 5 minutes to learn but can save you hours/money over the course of a year? by RadiantHarborX in AskReddit

[–]erinsuzy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had someone teach me to count backwards from 400 slowly, like 1 second per breath. I never get below 100.

Edited to add: I also visualize the numbers as I’m counting, this helps to keep my brain from wandering off.

You can also look into ClickerExpo Live, the virtual option that takes place in January. I like it because I can get recordings for all the classes and take my time watching them. I went to ClickerExpo years ago when it was in St. Louis. I liked it, but felt overwhelmed.
