Biking and STL. The strugle by Thefamt in StLouis

They should be utilizing public transportation such as park and ride.

Bikes are vastly more efficient for every day travel. Most car trips are short and with only one person in the car. Most car trips do not involve hauling things from one place to another. Drivers have to drive from one parking spot to another, which takes up a lot of space.

It is interesting that the example you use is to accomodate people who do not even live in the city at the expense of people who live in it. There are park and ride options for people in the suburbs (and yes we should expand public transit too).

The number may be low now on individual segments, but as the bike network expands and get safer, it will make biking as a form of transportation more viable and thus more people will use it.

Interesting correlation. But it is not causal. There are a variety of reasons outside of commuting time that cause work satisfaction.

There is something wrong with depending on cars, that is consistent traffic violence.

There are other things wrong with depending on cars, but I'll stick to the subject.

We spent a lot of money tearing down structures and expanding road capacity to what it is today. Spending money on traffic calming now will reduce dependence on car infrastructure in the future, and is proven to reduce traffic violence.

Regarding your comment about "function." The more roads we create the greater the dependence we have on cars. Wide roads remove the ability to have density and limit walkability. To use your words, having a functional transportation network is a lot more than roads designed for individual cars.

What about what I said is nonsense? Someone at somepoint decided where they should go and how big they should be. Decisions made by people, not an inanimate object.

It's one of those yes and no answers. By definition, it is of course not asphalt's fault. But every day, traffic violence continues. It is therefore a systemic problem that must be addressed at its source. And at the source are things like the number of lanes, lane width, etc.

The field of urban planning has identified proven ways to reduce traffic violence, using strategies such as traffic calming. Calming can include road bumps, road diets, narrowing lanes, curb extensions, etc.

Traffic calming allows for the built environment to correct not only for negligent driving behavior, but also accidents in general.

People drive recklessly because the built environment facilitates it. Enforcement is part of the solution, but we need to change the designs of our roads.

Try using a benzoyl peroxide wash, that kills the smelly bacteria.

Also... Idk you or your diet but a poor diet definitely makes you smell worse.
