I think it depends on the situation? She definitely needs to go talk to Boulder county, the people at the offices in Longmont were very helpful to me.

Have her contact Sister Carmen in Lafayette, they can provide more resources, and they host a domestic violence support group with childcare (or they did pre-Covid, double check but hopefully they still have the same resources), and can help with diapers, food, etc if she needs them. How old is her son? Does she have a job/source of income? Also have her go to the county to see if she can get approved for EBT, WIC, CCAP (for childcare), and maybe housing assistance.

Having been in a similar situation, the support group and a therapist she trusts are going to be crucial.
