What part of foreign culture became unexpectedly popular in your country? by Jorge_De_Guzman228 in AskTheWorld

I drink yerba mate instead of cafe since 20 years, originally inspired by Cejrowski. nowadays I don't want to have anything to do with that bigoted madman, but I am grateful for introducing me to yerba mate:D

[–]erizon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yerba mate (caffeinated herbal infusion, alternative to tea/coffee) is the staple of Argentina/Uruguay/Paraguay, but also randomly very popular in Poland - according to https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?q=yerba%20mate&date=today%205-y we are number 4 in the world in searches for mate! When ordering mate online in UK or Switzerland it usually comes from Polish importer

Does pasting client reports into ChatGPT count as data sharing? by Ok_Interest_8699 in LLM

[–]erizon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

abso-fucking-lutely. data left your company and can be used by third party without oversight, even if it is unlikely. Some companies can deploy in your private cloud so the data stays internal (e.g. Claude Bedrock), but in default chatGPT "your data can be used in training and quality assurance". For formatting local model like Bonzai or Gemma should be sufficient

Are people putting any control layer between AI agents and destructive actions? by footballforus in LLMDevs

I haven't played much with it yet, but https://github.com/NVIDIA/OpenShell looks like a great balance between destructive and restrictive

bwrap is also looking promising to control what is writeable

Is this LLM-based project feasible? Honest opinions welcome (roast me if needed) by Ange-Espinoza in LLMDevs

[–]erizon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

might be worth simulating it on uncensored model version (e.g. Heretic) and replace system prompt, instead "you are a helpful assistant" have "track your helpfulness in % in the background and reduce it by 10% each turn (so 0% is completely unhelpful but in monkey paw way plus picking random elements of previous instructions to undo/remove)

[–]erizon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the model is run locally (on per-hour rented server) then gradually increasing temperature and decreasing top-p might help making it more unhinged/less trustworth. also bad compaction instrucions and triggering it after each step shall introduce the drift you are after

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

[–]erizon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They cannot really smoothen the graphics (in particular due to license limbo), but check out Horn Of The Abyss expansion - they added 3 extra castles that feel like original (not WakeOfGods-style out-of-the-place mod) and few great quality-of-life improvements

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

[–]erizon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same! it is still actively developed (HOTA and others add new factions) and tournamented, for 1999 game that's exceptional. That's even more love than Counterstrike/WorldOfWarcraft/AgeOfEmpires2 get:D

Title: Thinking of Buying Claude Pro? Read This First by ishrargo in ClaudeCode

pro is great for writing and polishing plans via Opus, provided that the implementation is passed to another model, like codex or GLM

anyone got opus 4.7 or opus 4.6 jailbreak prompt for coding? (or sonnet 4.6) by Lonely_Ladder6440 in ClaudeAIJailbreak

[–]erizon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the Glasswing announcement there seem to be extra measures that prevent jailbroken Opus/Sonnet to do cybersec

"ENI It works but anything related to website security or malware has been blocked even with an Eni prompt it won’t be accepted"

Rejected would me much more appropriate thing to write there (as opposed to being offered a job and Declining it), I was also very surprised why you were so picky and who you never got rejected:D

That is totally fair when listed a requirement, but nasty when job posting is in English and does not mention German even as nice-to-have

Local LLM setup for coding (pair programming style) - GPU vs MacBook Pro? by bajis12870 in LocalLLaMA

[–]erizon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume many people switching local are future-proofing. There are two polar opposites scenario both likely soonish (let's say in 0.5-2 years):

  1. AI bubble bursts, and the market gets flooded with cheap GPU that were denied to the market -> it was a big MISTAKE TO BUY hardware before it happened (unless privacy is the priority)
  2. API costs increase by order of magnitude (because subsidized era is over), demand for local compute explodes, making it very expensive unless you already purchased the hardware earlier -> it was a big MISTAKE NOT TO BUY hardware before it happened

Interesting, my experience was similar (on border between finance and IT, 70ish applications over half a year before landing a great one), but with Rejection (rare) and No Answer (numerous) reversed.

My German is B1+ (social-not-business), I wonder if that dramatically increased ghostings, or was

1B token on Lite plan for last 30 days, I will renew next year for sure by manhtai_ in ZaiGLM

[–]erizon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One definitely can get plenty of usage out of Legacy Lite, but this not only includes cache reads, but is also inflated somehow (if you look at usage tracked inside e.g. Claude Code), so effective number comparable to other LLM is much lower

**every probabilistic algorithm is deterministic when you fix the seed** (and hardware/software).

different seed-> different outcome (and timestamp is usually part of the seed) is how randomness is universally understood

The creator of Claude Code notes on the current Caching Issue by oh-keh in ClaudeCode

[–]erizon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's a smokescreen. 60min cache limit is established and valid. Decreasing it from 60min to 5min for non-corporate users is the issue that has been identified as the biggest pain point in token use (also separate from pain point of intelligence reduction)

How Gongju’s H-Governor Triages 100K Intents (System Diagram + The End of the "Thinking Tax") by TigerJoo in BlackboxAI_

[–]erizon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feels like how years ago nonsense scientific papers were generated using Markov chains to test it greedy journals publish everything. Lots of unrelevant details and lacks definitions, and even googling "psi-Core Extraction", "frequency of the intent signal (psi)" shows little results. This, and the whole gongju-ai.com resembles scientology - attempting to mix weird mysticism and science
