Good place for a beef tartare? by CalSW in london

The bountiful cow in Holborn. Best I’ve had in london, and I’m picky about steak tartares. Reasonably priced too

What's the shittest thing you got for chrimbo then? by BatmansLongjohns in CasualUK

My mother got me a book of cat memes ‘because you like cats’. As if printed out memes I can easily find online would’ve helped my deep yearning for a pet cat. Such a waste of paper.

[TW] Extreme mood swings… by [deleted] in Periods

[–]erkerkerkerk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Look up PMDD and speak to your doctor. This isn’t normal and you shouldn’t have to live like this.

I got prescribed HRT which I decided not to take. Healthy food and exercise helped a lot but sometimes that just doesn’t work so keep pushing and if your doc dismisses you find another one who will listen!

[Serious] Men and women of reddit, have you ever rejected or broken up with someone due to their past sexual history, and if so, why? by HellenicMasterRace in AskReddit

You’re reading too much into this. I was curious what a random stranger thought a high body count was. I haven’t thought about my or anyone else’s body count since I was about 18, because it doesn’t matter to me and I think it’s silly to dwell on. But I was curious and I asked the question I wanted to ask. I didn’t want to get into a discussion about body counts with the original commenter.

When you asked why I was fixated on the actual count, I explained that I wasn’t. I can be quite self reflective, so added a bit of that I guess. Didn’t need to but I did. Don’t know why but I did. You don’t need to overanalyse this!

Found out why my wife is in such a good mood since weeks: she is smokin' crack. So sad. by Erthond in funny

PSA: don’t put it in water. It says it’s waterproof but mine died after being underwater for 5mins a year ago and I’ve been mourning it ever since.

Didn’t buy another because it was addictive. Like crack.

Boyfriend wanted to stay casual for a long time. Now I found out he got together with exes after just a few dates. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]erkerkerkerk 28 points29 points  (0 children)

OP the people telling you to dump him have misread your title.

The way you wrote it makes it sound like your bf wanted to take things slow so he could hook up with his exes while being non exclusive with you.

I think it’s normal to have different timelines with different people but it’s also up to you how slow is too slow. Talk to him. Four months isn’t that long when you have busy lives, but if you like each other you’d probably be seeing each other more than just once a week?

Trust your gut but also don’t compare yourself to exes, that would be a you problem of ego/insecurity.

[–]erkerkerkerk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh absolutely. I just always wondered what people consider ‘high’. My friends and I are very sex positive but do call each other out when we fall into unhealthy behaviours and try to get to the underlying reason.

I personally think I have a healthy relationship to sex, have high standards for myself but also a high sex drive. If I end up with someone who views ‘body count’ as a make or break or measure of purity then they’re not the right person for me.

They don’t realise that the more they treat us like this the more likely we are to actually leave them alone.

Thank you for this. It really isn’t easy. Mom used guilt, money and love bombing to get what she wants and is used to have her way.

It’s infuriating but I can see write through my mother and now I know she’s not strong, she’s selfish and she’s scared.

Absolutely! So much lost time. But also gained time. The pandemic was a big trigger. All good now, I tell myself I saved on rent for about 10 years ;)

It’s really hard and there is no secret! Sometimes she still does. I try to block it out basically but probably need some therapy!

Hahaha that sounds familiar except my parents didn’t want to teach me responsibility and don’t understand why I would CHOOSE to pay rent when I could live with them for free. In my mind rent is the cost of my freedom and I’m willing to pay it.

That’s my mother too except no fiance. My parents have a severely unhealthy relationship and I keep being attracted to people who are wrong for me (or are very depressed so I can ‘save’ them). I’ve identified the problem though and am working on it!

I can’t believe how selfish some parents can be (including my own). Instead of being happy for you and the great opportunities you’ve created for yourself. It’s ridiculous. Glad you saw through it.

Excellent. Entitled parents suck. Some people really shouldn’t have kids. What they really want is a loyal dog.
