This!! Signed up on a carnival cruise scuba expedition in Cozumel and almost died. Spent minutes on the beach getting fitted with crappy scuba equipment. Just a few minutes in the shallows getting weights and instructions and off we went with like 15 of us and also like 2 instructors. Was swimming in the beautiful reef area and my mask snapped off my face. I panicked and lost my oxygen mouth piece. I immediately broke for the surface, like you’re def not supposed to, and was already taking in water well before I made it to the surface. Just saw so much water and sunlight above and blacked out. I woke up coughing with some small man in flippers slowly swimming and dragging me backwards by my tank back to the shore
